There is a world somewhere between reality and fiction. Although ignored by many, it is very real and so are those living in it. This forum is about the natural world. Here, wild animals will be heard and respected. The forum offers a glimpse into an unknown world as well as a room with a view on the present and the future. Anyone able to speak on behalf of those living in the emerald forest and the deep blue sea is invited to join.

Trip report by #wildographydudette Sherry Mckelvie from a recent photosafari in Madikwe co-led by #wildographers Johan Van Zyl & Grant Marcus.

I  am just back from a photographic safari in Madikwe, SA, with Wild Eye, led by Johan Van Zyl and Grant Marcus. We had some wonderful sightings, but this has to be the most incredible. As we drove along, a lioness suddenly appeared with her tiny cub - probably just a day old. You can see the umbilical cord and some blood on its legs still. She crossed the road, hid her cub in a thicket and then returned for the second one!

I don't know if it's the right thread for the topic but I'm looking for new documentaries about lions. Has someone a list with the best documentaries?

Big cat week starts in a couple of weeks and they have 3-4 new lion docs coming out, I'll post their names when they air.

Here's a thread with some docs and other threads mentioned.
http://wildfact.com/forum/topic-big-cats...ocumentary

I also recommend going to the search bar and putting in "documentory" that should bring up others as well.

National geographic video:

By Dereck and Beverly Joubert:

Eternal enemies: lions and hyena war...
Lions of darkness: life inside a pride which was conquered by three big males.

By Philipp Richardson:
Walking with lions.
