There is a world somewhere between reality and fiction. Although ignored by many, it is very real and so are those living in it. This forum is about the natural world. Here, wild animals will be heard and respected. The forum offers a glimpse into an unknown world as well as a room with a view on the present and the future. Anyone able to speak on behalf of those living in the emerald forest and the deep blue sea is invited to join.

Shaaz Jung: " Lions, their grace and power unmatched. True kings, each wore their battle scars, a reminder to all that none shall pass. Their godly aura commanded the earth around them and like Norse Gods and fallen Kings, they drank blood from curved horns and waited for their kin to be born. The fate of their kingdom relied on unity and together they were untouchable...

Here’s a short video of the resident brothers at our Ndutu Camp. Odin and his pride lived with us and hunted by us. Similar to my style of photography, I love to experiment with my videography and mould them around my favourite songs. It may or may not work but i enjoy being creative. Leonard Cohens ‘You want it Darker’ is one of my all time favourites and I hope you like it. ..
Shot with the Nikon Z6. "

James Tyrell: " They were watching buffalo. But that was it. They fell asleep about two minutes after this photo was taken. "

False alarm !

James Tyrell: " I love the affection displayed between members of a lion coalition.

Whether “affection” is even the right word, I’m not sure, but the rubbing of heads, soft “umph” utterances that we can’t help but ascribe to tenderness, and the genuine pleasure they seem to take in each other’s company, are all so seemingly out of character for a dominant male lion that we can’t help but be drawn in.
These brothers hadn’t seen each other in 24hrs or so, but their respective roars on a freezing winter’s morning reunited them on an open clearing, where we got to see the full greeting display. "

I don't personally think these are Asiatic lions. But this photo is nice, look at just the lion's back ! How the muscles are hardening in front of the threat embodied by the lioness...

I read an article concerning Majingilane lion coalition and description of this photo was kind of funny even though dramatic and dangerous situation for that lone male who was in wrong place and wrong time. If that elephant would have just understood what was going on, I would bet that it would have looked elsewhere and continued passing by instead of charging.

The Majingilane ruled with an iron fist, as an intruding coalition found out to their cost one day in 2012, when the Majingilane caught them on their southern boundary and mauled the male in this picture severely, until a bull elephant wandered by, charged the lot of them, and allowed the young male to make his escape.

Certainly a failed attempt to steal up to the branches a leopard's meal. And after his companion pays the price of its frustration.
