"This huge lion, estimated to weight well over 450 pounds was radio collared for research and conservation. Tanzania does not allow for fences that would separate humans and wild animals so programs such as this help animals and humans coexist. The lion is so large and powerful he is able to successfully hunt male buffalo on his own. We were fortunate to have been able to witness the repairs to his radio collar (and the hole in his neck) damage sustained from a buffalo’s horn."

Too bad they didn't get his exact weight during the capture.

Giants of the Crater! Following last week’s introduction of the five impressive Lake Quintet males this is a more recent shot of one of the five brothers, referred to as LK116. He’s characterized by a thick dark mane that completely covers his chest and shoulders, as well as an exceptionally bulky body size. Can you actually believe that by the time this picture was taken in 2019 he was only 6 years old?! Although he easily shows the appearance of a male lion in his late prime years, he was only born in June 2013. This makes him a prime example of how fast male lions in the Ngorongoro Crater seem to mature compared to their counterparts in other regions of Africa. The 3 Tsalala Males , who sired by The Famous Majinglane Males
In old and beautiful picture that gathered them together, before they dispersed due to the death of two of them through an electrical contact that occurred in Kruger National Park to keep the last survivor who called ( Three tooth ) looking for himself,

After the horrific accident, he was seen returning to his old neighborhood in Sabi Sands, wandering around, and dating with distant lionesses, until he returned again to Kruger , the De Laporte area in particular, where he was seen with 3 lions, and it seems that there was a slight fight between them that ended with a strong bond between them.

the De Laporte males , consisting of four males who do not related with blood but all of them need for each other to face the hard wildlife

#Earless & Mate.

Another morning spent with Earless and his buddy. There was a confrontation with Black rock males but luckily no one was seriously harmed. Earless escaped with minor back scars! (More photos to follow).

ROYAL KING

EARLESS
While on patrol through the grassfield, looking handsome but a beast himself.

NOTE
?
He was born in 2011 in RONGAI PRIDE and is the son o NOTCH.

At the age of 3 years he became very impressive in size and was robust. He turned into a massive beast when he reached the age of 5 years old.He started mating at an early age and he was dominant male though his partner was older than him.

He even mated with RONGAI PRIDE lionessess probably sisters since the NOTCH abondened the pride.Later he made coalition partner with BOXERNOSE and raised many cubs in 2017.

After BOXERNOSE disappeared from the scene he became partner with OSAHABU but they were kicked out of the SOPA VALLEY.They were chased out of the CONSERVANCY which was surrounded by MANDEVU,DROOPY and CHUNGWA and were surrounded by the 4 HAMMERKOP MALES following the 3 BLACK ROCK PRIDE MALES and the 2 AUTUMN MALES in 2019.

He is not seen since like his partner BOXERNOSE.If he is alive than he will be 9 years old. It's hard to survive but Lions are born fighters.

Farewell to a legend, Shishangeni Male ?☹️

Another sad loss this time, one of the four Shishangeni males, tanks of Kruger. This is the second of the four to be lost, with the first one vanishing a year ago.

Known for their huge size and aggression. Feared in the south. They took the prides of their fathers the 6 Gomondwane at only 4 years of age. They have chased all coalitions in the south and ran the south of Kruger with iron paws . No one came close to challenging the Shishangenis and rightfully so. Such a dominant force. They fathered the 3 Mjejane males, prime beasts who are feared themselves. They sired the 7 Vurhamis, the 4 Hippo pools and have young ones on the way.

This one who just passed is easy to recognise as he has one big left eye and a smaller right eye, typical lazy eye that gave him a more badass look. He has been dealing with his hip injury for nearly a year and going strong. True strength shown. He can rest easy now.

We celebrate a legend who has done it all and leaves an incredible legacy that will live on for generations. The Shishangeni reign is far from over with two huge brothers remaining who you wouldn’t want to test.
RIP Shishangeni, Legend. 2011-2020 ♥️
