Nile crocodile feasting on Topi carcass ============================= We were waiting near a carrion of an adult Topi that was lying in a rivulet, expecting the big Leopard which had made the kill, to show up. In an amazement sighting, a mid-sized Nile crocodile stealthily appeared from nowhere and started to gobble and gormandize on this Topi corpse .. That is when the Leopard came out of the bramble and the bushes and chased away the crocodile, everything happening very expeditiously.. (Crocodylus niloticus) & (Damaliscus lunatus jimela) November 2019, Maasai Mara National Reserve, Narok County, Kenya...  *This image is copyright of its original author

@ The cow in your picture did not have any other herd member to save it. Here is another Leopard taking down a cow.  *This image is copyright of its original author The Leopard was pinning the cow to the ground, until one of its buddies moved the Leopard from the advantageous position.  We were in our morning safari and suddenly heard a Calf cry. When turned behind, witnessed this eye watering sight. It was really painful to see and hear the poor calf fighting for life but that's the nature cycle.
