This is heartbreaking. Might the death be caused by malaria after the flood?

I dont think its confirmed that the two necessary died in the same event. That they were found days after each other opens up all sorts of possibilities.

Two dead Kambulas? My goodness.

Even for the biggest pride, what a catastrophic blow.

New to the place and still combing through thousands of comments, but this is the area I am most interested in and would visit if I ever went.  I was wondering if the flooding could have caused something to happen here, or if it's just coincidence with such a large group.  The picture circulating of the Hyena with the leg... that leg looks kind of small to my untrained eye to be a full adult.  I hope this is just a bad set of coincidence, and not a sign of things to come.

Anyone has any further updates about the dead Kambulas? In the core group, I believe at least 5 of them have been accounted for.

Guys…..the toll is rising…..this may become quite a tragic situation.   I’m gutted and in nervous  disbelief.    Such sad developments.

Speaking w guides…..there may have been some kind of contamination.   Food, water,,,,something they’re investigating .

Very sad news.

Its very confusing too. I wonder if these lions were seen after the first lioness died and in what condition.

This is insane. Lion dynamics are crazy, one day the pride was huge and we were talking about their bright future and then half of the original pride dies like nothing.

I can only hope they are doing their best to find what's happening to fix it, otherwise the entire pride will be gone.

Or these 3 lionesses consumed a rotten carcass together? Thinking about what they went through and finally reached adulthood and then died like this.. So sad....

Not just the lionesses, but also the N'was males. I really hope none of those is going to be affected next. No more.

Hi guys.

This is a severe tragedy & i cannot explain how distraught i am.

I really hope we find out who the females are & if the Nwaswishaka boys are ok

The pride has around 19 cubs so 3 dead kambula females is going to destroy many more lives.

They just became a mega pride too
