We do not know whether they are brothers or random jaguars who are tolerating each other as there is no female in heat nearby or there is more than enough food to go around. Presumably if either of these two factors were not the case then they would not have been so relaxed around each other. But with the Pantanal jaguar population only recently being subjected to sustained eco-tourism and research we are learning more and more about jaguar ecology and this may not be as unusual as previously thought? Leandro noticed a wild cerrado Jaguar crossing the road next to Mati captive female enclosure ( which is located 1.2 km away from the other enclosures) by its trails and pugmarks Leandro notices its a big cerrado male lured by the captive female that have been wondering around messing up the surrounds grass he even tried to dig around the fences to get into Mati's enclosure, Leandro supposes it could be Rogério male then he checks the camera traps to find out. Its a Big Cerrado male |
