You are close, but since this video isn´t first time here, a small correction. That jumping lion is Aslan, in that video is said (zookeeper who is talking on background), that he is 250 kg. @Pantherinae who has worked in that zoo and knows this particular lion has told, that it has been 255 kg at one point.

I guess, that you made an estimation, when you said 260 kg or do you have some source telling that? You posted earlier some videos about lions and tigers and there you gave estimations, that´s ok when saying it. But if you give exact numbers without telling that it is an estimation, then please put also information, how do you know?
Hi @Shadow,sorry for the late reply, I know Aslan was weighted 252 kg not 255 kg but 90% of time,he weighed 255 kg.260 kg was Aslan's peak weight which was said by @Pantherinae. See post #250 ,you are right about 250 kg which was said in the video. He has passed his prime in the video. He may have lost 5 kilos from 255.Lions and tigers lose their condition after 7-8 .These videos were published on 2015. He may be 8-9 old in those videos considering he was weighed on scales at age 7 back on 2013.Other videos about weights were estimated by me.If there are any confirmed weights,I will post the links.

That was odd, because later @Pantherinae has said exact number and that was 255 kg. Small difference of course but that he have said a few times. But if that was estimation 250-260 kg, then we have in this video said by zookeeper 250 kg. But hopefully @Pantherinae can clarify what is biggest weighed weight of Aslan that he knows. It really is always good to know what is estimation and what is known from weighing.
He was weighed at 260 kg yes, even his poster/fact sheet in the Zoo says 260 kg. 255 was the most common weight though. So I guess that would be the most accurate weight. I'll go to the zoo in the next month or so. If I see some of the people I know from when I was there, I'll ask if I can take a behind the scenes tour and get some more info about the weights in their prime. Several of the lionesses there weighed 180 kg, and most aren't fat either just good genes I guess.

Ok, that clears then situation. There was no information about other measurements, shoulder height and body length or maybe I have missed those? He is just in that way impressive, that he really does look like fit lion. Many lions around 200 kg look like same if in photo when thinking about overall appearance (slim, fit, obese).

When talking about these captive lions and tigers what amazes me in Aslan is, that I asked from Odense zoo about their famous tiger Igor, which looks very big in many photos and videos. And they said, that he was 250 kg, maybe a bit more at some point. So Aslan actually is equal what comes to weight. That was very interesting thing to learn, when looking for information.

Aslan and Aragon are 3 years old in that lower photo. They were transferred to Norway, when they were 3 and that photo seems to be from Norway.

Yeah,he said that he will go to the zoo next month to get the measurements and prime weight.

Prime weight should be clear, as @Pantherinae has told, his heaviest weight was 260 kg, but usually he was 255 kg. That video where he jumps is from 2015 and Aslan has been then 11 years old since he was 3 years old in summer 2007. Now he is then 15 years old, might be still in reasonable condition. Still othe measurements would be interesting to know. He really is an exceptional individual. Some claim, that famous wild lion Caesar would have been weighed and been heavier, but impossible to find any reliable information, only something which I consider rumors. Pity, but if true, hopefully we know one day.

Aslan is much more impressive than Caesar in terms of frame size and weight.I estimate Caesar to be 210-220 kg.There are individuals larger than Caesar. There might be lions of 250 kg or more roaming the planes of Africa.Aslan's father Tau is from Kenya and he is a big lion of 250 kg like you said.I think record lion was from mt Kenya of 270 kg but I forgot the link.Tau looks like Aslan

@Shadow,What's your guesstimate about his shoulder height?I think Shoulder height is one of under discussed topics among big cat enthusiasts. Most are concentrated about knowing length and weights.

Too difficult to say, I haven´t seen any photos helping in that. He just looks like quite average lion when looking at body, I mean not fat or skinny and that is what makes his weight so surprising. Should be a big lion. What comes to your estimation about Caesar, I replied to that in Notch thread, I find your estimation odd when sources I know always mention Caesar as one very big lion. And he for sure looks like one.
