TBT - March 2018
a Lioness carrying a 4 day old White Lion Cub” a once in a lifetime moment a moment that you will never forget and always cherish. As if this wasn’t enough at first we saw her carry one Cub, then this white one and then a third, I would have been blown away with the first Cub!
This cub was sired by the coalition known as the Western males on Ngala.
Going through this logic, the 2 middle age lionesses of the Birmingham pride carries the white gene 100% on his blood... One of the 2 lionesses that I've mentioned above is the mother of the white young male from the Birmingham pride...

There are really not many things as majestic as a beautiful male lion especially in the golden glow of morning. Here one of the Ross males listens to his brother calling in the distance. They then proceeded to meet up not long after this.

Love this throw back pic. I think I recognize Mfumo, Nhena and Scapper.... but also, are there six males here?

Either way, great find!

Could be, afterwards the old Birmingham males sired numerous sub-adults on the Birmingham pride .. The adult lioness on the right side of the photo that is near of a young male. Should be 100% the mother of the Matimba males and the old Birmingham lionesses as well ... You can see the color of his pink (completely black) and the color of the eye contour too

Some good photos of the Birmingham pride including the white young male  who will turn 2 years old next month and the white young lioness...
Today during the safari with WildEarth.TV. the Ross male (Fabio) was been mating with one of the Birmingham lioness that is probably in estrus. This means that sooner or later the sub-adults males will forced out to left the Birmingham pride.

Some new video of the Birmingham Pride, including Fabio, posted just today. Video of the pride begins at 7:30. An interesting tidbit, in the video segment directly preceding the Birminghams, they are showing video of a jackal and discussing them. The narrator explains that Jackals are not only scavengers, but do indeed hunt sometimes as well, explaining how he witnessed 5 of them catching a Thompsons Gazelle and eating it alive. I did not think they would attack anything much larger than a field mouse, in all honesty.
