When we saw the Cubs initially, one had a kill and was eating it, whereas the other was just sitting quietly. Then all of a sudden it got up and dashed off towards the back of the Lake.....And then we saw, Maya with a Spotted Deer kill in her mouth......This cub, just snatched it from her.....But, you can see the motherly love in Maya's eyes, as she sees the cub disappear towards the watch tower.....

Wagdoh is the best tiger daddy from the tiger world and he has no competition in this department. there is documented proof of 4 different litters that he babysat while their mothers were running errands.

1) Wagdoh and Madhuri's teliya litter (Sonam, Geeta, Lara & Mona - all females)
2) Wagdoh and Madhuri's Dewada litter (Shankar, Bhola, Parvati & Tulsi - 2 males & 2 females)
3) Wagdoh and Kori litter (Savari, Hirai and Shiva - 2 females & 1 male)
4) Wagdoh and Aishwarya/Lajri tigress litter (3 unknown cubs)

The pictures posted by Pckts are the cubs of Wagdoh and Aishwarya tigress or Lajri tigress. hopefully they get their names soon.

@Majingilane those are two of the most succesful tigers that we have in the last couple posts, Wagdoh is a true representative from Central India and Raja is the legendary assassin of Southern India. they say every tiger has a personality and Raja is well known for his fighting prowess, a tiger who spent a decade ruling the biggest area of Bandipur and all of tourism zone. a good friend of mine once said, there are tigers and then there is Raja. he has never failed to assassinate a rival male. since the last two years, Bandipur has been a battle zone of males, dozens of tigers have lost their lives due to territorial disputes, lack of space in the park for everyone to peacefully co-exist has driven many tigers out of park. conflict with humans was on the rise and only those in their prime ages were the main forces that could claim Bandipur's prey rich habitat. many doubted that Raja was just a pawn in all of this and that he would suffer the wrath of young powerful males in their prime. he proved that he was more than just a pawn. Infact, he successfully eliminated all rivals by defeating them and killing a large adult male last year in March, according to the Bandipur forest department. the deceased was around 6 years of age and in his prime. Raja was indeed a trump card in the jungle's higher end of the bargain and a King of the jungle that proved that he wasnt ready to fall, even till this very day. the one walking undisputed is the one and only, to sum it up, Raja and Wagdoh are the best.

Question: Some of these tiger names, such as Wagdoh, Raja, Bamera, and Charger I see posted often in these tiger topics. Are there any famous Amur tigers in the wild whose names are well known to tiger enthusists?

This is exactly what drives me to take some time to sit and read, and learn about tigers, even though sometimes I'm busy and have little time.

But it's so amazing to learn the real nature of them, not the one that is just promoted in some books or by people that prefer other cats that say tigers avoid fighting and tolerate each other and other kind of things like that.

But this is different. This is how they really are and just as it did back in time with the lions, when I discarded some of my prejudices and objectively started to learn about them and ended up liking them, just the same all of this knowledge you and others share over here can help us to learn more about these magnificent beasts.

Thank you for that bit of information @Roflcopters

Swanand Deshpande:
13 years and still going strong.

This legendary tiger needs no introduction. The face of Kanha N.P.
'Munna' the tiger, is undoubtedly one of the most photographed tiger in India. Having a reputation for walking on roads for kilometers together, this old guy is still the king of Kanha. The prominent 'CAT' mark, the royal stance, the undaunted walk, those bold looks is everything that quenches a tiger lover's thirst for that one good glimpse of the mighty creature.

Most handsome tiger I have ever seen.. After seeing him , I fell in love for tigers. Didn\'t spot him after that in my 20-25 odd safaris
