Gaur is so big. And then again so small....

Regardless you can how low the Gaur is compared to the Elephant, notice the Elephants feet that are visible compared the Gaur whos legs are covered almost to the knee. Yes, gaur is on a bit lower ground, but it doesn´t change the overall situation. When photo is taken from 30-50 meters away or more, terrain shapes aren´t so visible. That gaur can be easily a few meters closer to the camera and in a bit lower part of ground. When looking at hind legs it can be seen quite good how much. Thus, each summer I secured photos of new friends which could be in close proximity without showing any signs of aggression at all. Both species display interest in the other’s affairs. If a noisy fight ensued some distance away, or other individuals appeared on the scene, the animals’ own business was temporarily forgotten. Things are not always as they seem. The photo at the beginning of this section, where a pale mother wolf and a dark brown bear in close proximity are staring at the same point, would appear to depict two close buddies. Yet sometimes a long telephoto lens gives a false impression: in a shot taken at a distance of 100-200 metres it looks as though two animals are almost touching, whereas in reality they are standing several safe metres apart."' As said, for me that photo looks to be a normal photo showing one gaur and elephant.
I looked a bit closer if able to find what this photographer (N A Naseer) say about this photo and this was in his facebook:

Obviously the elephant is behind the gaur and gaur looks a bit bigger in comparison because of that when thinking about the situation that they would be standing side by side. Still this photo gives quite good understanding what the size difference is, when bigger animal is only little bit further away than smaller.
