There is a world somewhere between reality and fiction. Although ignored by many, it is very real and so are those living in it. This forum is about the natural world. Here, wild animals will be heard and respected. The forum offers a glimpse into an unknown world as well as a room with a view on the present and the future. Anyone able to speak on behalf of those living in the emerald forest and the deep blue sea is invited to join.
Yes, I noticed him in your post in the Amur tiger thread. Some years ago, I contacted Miquelle about new info on the weight of wild Amur tigers. He said there would be a follow-up on the table published in 2005, but I haven't seen anything so far.
For now, 'Luke', at 212 kg. or 468 pounds, still tops the table. Two other males, at 207 kg. (459 pounds) and 204 kg. (451 pounds), also exceeded 200 kg. (442 pounds). Same for the famous bear hunter 'Dale', who was 205 kg. (453 pounds) the first time he was weighed. Not much later, after losing a few canines, he was 170 kg. (375 pounds). His average (he was weighed 3 times) was 192 kg. (424 pounds). This means he was about 202 kg. (447 pounds) the third time he was weighed.
Maybe the time has arrived to contact Miquelle or the one heading the Amur Tiger Programme again, Wolverine.
