There is a world somewhere between reality and fiction. Although ignored by many, it is very real and so are those living in it. This forum is about the natural world. Here, wild animals will be heard and respected. The forum offers a glimpse into an unknown world as well as a room with a view on the present and the future. Anyone able to speak on behalf of those living in the emerald forest and the deep blue sea is invited to join.

Kanha’s tiger sets out for
Satkosia Tiger Reserve

The management of Kanha Tiger Reserve in Madhya Pradesh captured and translocated a tiger for reintroduction into the Satkosia Tiger Reserve, Odisha on June 20, 2018 afternoon.
The tiger was immobilized by the wildlife veterinarians of Kanha and Pench Tiger Reserves, and was measured for different physical parameters. The entire operation was carried out by the Kanha management under the guidance of chief conservator of forests and field director (Kanha Tiger Reserve) Dr Sanjay Kumar Shukla.
The Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change, New Delhi, National Tiger Conservation Authority, New Delhi, and Wildlife Institute of India, Dehradun have prepared a special project for the reintroduction of tigers into the Satkosia Tiger Reserve.
Under this project, the Madhya Pradesh forest department is to give away 6 tigers (3 pairs) to the Odisha government for reintroduction. As two tigers are to be sent from Kanha, this was the first tiger in this sequence.
In the conservation history of India, this was the first time that a tiger from any tiger reserve has been sent to another state for reintroduction. Hopefully, this tiger will fulfill the objective of this ambitious project and help establish a good population of tigers at Satkosia. A team of forest officers and wildlife veterinarian also arrived at Kanha from Odisha for this operation.
K S Bhadoria, Joint Director, Anjana Suchita Tirkey, deputy director, Kanha Tiger Reserve, Dr K Ramesh, senior scientist, Wildlife Institute of India, Dehradun, Dr Rakesh Shukla, research officer, Dr Sandeep Agrawal, wildlife veterinarian, Kanha Tiger Reserve, Dr Akhilesh Mishra, wildlife veterinarian, Pench Tiger Reserve, S K Khare, S K Sinha, Ranjit Singh Uikey, S K Mishra, S K Sendram, assistant directors, range officers, and the staff of Kanha Tiger Reserve participated in this operation.

MB2 was confirmed to be 195kg
Nose to Base of the tail 205cm
Tail Length 92cm
Shoulder Height 125cm
Age 2.4 years old

They follow the "over the curves protocol"

Video's of MB2 and his Father, Umarpani Male together.

From May

From this month

Now going off of these two videos, I'd guess the Umarpani male to be 250kg plus.
Umarpani has a much larger head and his muscle mass is far more dense, body measurements look close but Umarpani still looks larger in all departments
