Ranthambore National Park tiger T-75 was shifted to the Sariska National Park on Monday. He will be known as ST – 16 at Sariska. This is the fourth male tiger at the reserve.

According to the forest officials, Tiger T-75 is seven years old Prime male and is the cub of Tigress T- 17 ‘Sundari’ and Tiger T-25 ‘Dollar’ (One of the best father in the world - Tiger's heart who cared and nurtured two cubs of tigress T-5 after her death).

The step has been taken to increase the tiger population at Sariska. Tiger T-75 is a mature tiger and is completely ready for mating. Sariska has faced a loss in its tiger population after the death of ST -11, added officials.

Quote:The forest department officials tranquilized Tiger T-75 for the shifting. He is being currently kept in enclosures and will soon be released into the reserve, said an officer.

The tiger relocation from Ranthambore to Sariska was scheduled for April 6 but some legal procedures and decisions took some time.

A two-member team from NTCA and WII visited Ranthambore on April 1 to inspect and oversee the preparations for the tiger shifting.

The team picked five tigers aged between 4 and 7 years for the relocation. The officials then selected Tiger T-75 for the relocation.

The forest department officials including principal chief conservator GV Reddy, Ranthambore field Director YK Sahu, and DFO Mukesh Saini gave a go-ahead to the proposal after getting approval from the National Tiger Conservation Authority (NTCA) and Wild Life Institute (WII).

Recently, Tigress T-83 was relocated to Mukundra Hills Tiger Reserve from Ranthambore National Park on Friday morning.

Tigress T-83 was popularly known as ‘Lightning’ at Ranthambore. She is named MT-4 at Mukundra.
