There is a world somewhere between reality and fiction. Although ignored by many, it is very real and so are those living in it. This forum is about the natural world. Here, wild animals will be heard and respected. The forum offers a glimpse into an unknown world as well as a room with a view on the present and the future. Anyone able to speak on behalf of those living in the emerald forest and the deep blue sea is invited to join.

Indian Leopard (Panthera pardus fusca)

"Photographed this bold leopard on one of my visits to Bandipur Tiger Reserve.

We got to know that a tigress had made a gaur kill and was seen on this particular morning with her cubs. So we decided to try our luck and went in pursuit of the tigress. Reaching the spot we saw a few vehicles already present and learned that the kill had been dragged further inside the thicket and wasn't to be seen. Nevertheless, we decided to wait at the same spot.

After a while the vehicles started dispersing, and we saw a beautiful white-rumped vulture perched against a blue sky. While we were photographing it we were totally unaware of the leopard's presence until one of us cried "Leopard!"

He was standing out in the open and offering a beautiful photo opportunity."
