A lot have changed in this half a year , prob most turbulent period of SS in the past few years.
We witnessed biggest shift in males dynamics since 2018 with Nws males overthroning and taking BBoys territory and pride in late 2021, era of 6 yrs dominance of BBoys came to an end. Tinyo disappeared around that time, it is not know if it was related to Nws or not, last standing birmingham, Nhenha, went nomadic.
Up in the north things also changed , few adult females breakaway from Nkuhuma and Talamati prides and went on next chapter with new males , 2 Nkuhumas went west in Singita with 2 new dominant males in this area , Plains Camp boys, while 3 Talamatis went north with Imbali/s8 male. DM Avoca as lone male lost grip on his territory and pride in meantime , he prob didnt get accepted back to his brothers, so he went nomadic and now roams Sabi Sands alone.
In this period we lost few lions like Bboy Tinyo, Scar Tumbela, Smudge Nosed Kruger male (not confirmed but not seen since September), Tsalala female, Ximhungwe subadult female and few more subadults and cubs.
Great update as always. Thanks for doing these maps…they extremely helpful.
