Finally, an attempted gaur hunt from the early stages.
Check it out, another hunt showing that tigers are much more than just "ambush" hunters, they'll adapt when the situation calls for it.

Any info on the tiger?

An attempted ambush which progressed into a chase. I've seen this same scenario often with lions and buffalo.

My point... People always say lions are distance runners compared to tigers who are short sprinters. Which obviously isn't the only case.

Quite impressive, especially since the gaur looks to be a bull.

Edit: after viewing it on my PC I think it's a cow, not a bull.

Females are estimated to be over 200kg at times so this gives you an idea of what strength is needed to drag carcasses equal or larger than the predator who made the kill, plus it's uphill.

Edit: Also, please note that she never releases her grip, from the suffocation to the dragging of the carcass, she holds fast the entire time. Imagine the power and muscle endurance needed to maintain such a tight jaw grip for that long of a time.
Awesome!

Male tiger feeding on its kill.
The video says its from Corbett NP but for me it looks like a Ranthambore tiger.
If anyone can verify this, it would be much appreciated.

Thanks
