M.F. Flash male named by Panthera Brasil in Porto Jofre.

Panthera Brasil: ''Thanks to tourism and research, we’ve been able to identify and follow some interesting individual jaguars. There is one large male jaguar, who we call M.F. Flash, which frequently prowls around our ranch headquarters. He earned his name the very first time we captured him on camera trap when he sprinted by so quickly that, when we showed the video to one of the cowboys, he exclaimed “Flash!”. We’ve since seen him on multiple cameras throughout the property.''

Translated to English:
Good day, lovers of jaguars and wildlife in general. I have been tormented by one question for a long time. How fast can a jaguar run? They write on the Internet that it can be up to 90 km per hour, but I don't believe in it. It seems to me that the jaguar is one of the worst runners in the feline family, the panther. For me, speed is the jaguar's weak point. Does anyone have any suggestions on this topic?

Jaguars are capable of fast sprints but not long chases. They can be fast in short burst but are not build for endurance, so in theory they can be fast but only for a short period of time.

90 km seems like an exaggeration, my guess would be something closer to 65-70 km per hour at maximum velocity, similar to a tiger.

To me, some jaguars like Adriano and Gage have fairly recognizable faces, but Balam's face is extremely recognizable.

Balam has a very menacing look that's unmistakable. Adriano to me is unmistakably as well, he had a more imposing almost lion-like face.

NORTHERN PANTANAL:

"This mornings surveys was a success! We were in our way back for lunch when we had an amazing encounter with a female known as Borboletinha. She was first seen in 2018 with her mother. She’s a bit shy but giving her the distance she needed to relax we were able to spend some time watching her rest on the bank.

One more individual seen healthy and well after the fires. ?"

SOUTHERN PANTANAL: New huge male seen at Barra Mansa lodge, no names were posted for him.

He seems to be an older male recently past his prime, probably 8-10 years old. Very long legs and large frame, huge overall.
