Sad

Does anyone have any cases of big cats taking life threatening injuries and living to roar about it?

Here's a young male lion who survived a kick from a giraffe

Worst i've seen on a tiger is probably Gabbar's injury. This spirited male of Tadoba recieved a viscous bite to its muzzle (@Roflcopters @Rage2277 by whom?).

The wound healed, but left his skull disfigured.

And that^ lion from Gir... Opponent's claw caught him in the eye socket & ripped off the bone covering the nasal cavity.
Now, i couldn't confirm whether this healed or who this lion was, but the recently deceased male called Bado didn't have the eye & had a similar scar.
@jordi6927 It could have been him. Not sure.

i lean to katezari being more aggressive than saturn who was on the defensive against gabbar in the fight we saw of them..he even submitted before they clashed..i think he would've avoided gabbar..though katezari being the more diplomatic one seeing how he dealt with saturn probably wouldn't back down to gabbar trying to get him to submit

In that first picture, Gabbar and Katezari fought at Kala Amba (March/2015). Gabbar was severely injured in that fight. his entire face was clawed and chewed on. Gabbar later went to recovery mode and Namdev who was more dominant around Pandherpauni, kolara gate and parts of kolara buffer ended up taking over most of Gabbar’s territory. Katezari and Namdev both split areas and ruled most of 2015 all the way until late summer. towards the end of 2015, a young male who we now know as “Matkasur” began pushing both Namdev and Katezari out of the area and by late winter 2015. he became the undisputed king of the lake area, under his reign. he systematically eliminated Namdev, Bobdya and Katezari from their territories and set the record straight. around this time, Wildlife Institute of India was still extensively monitoring Gabbar and he was seen moving outside of the park, sometimes he would go towards the core and there were alot of reported sightings early 2016 but no pictures emerged until April/2016, Gabbar returned from exile and was spotted in Jamunbodi, the sightings only grew. he was sighted In May and June that year. by now Matkasur had already established himself as a resident male and people feared that a confrontation between the two could escalate tensions, sure enough they both clashed. Gabbar and Matkasur fought end of May, Gabbar won that round and mated with Maya but his victory lasted only a few weeks. Matkasur regained strength and fought Gabbar again. this time completely overwhelming him and making it clear that he was no longer allowed in the area and since then Gabbar was never seen again. The Saga of Matkasur still continues till this very day, back then Wagdoh, Yeda Anna, Gabbar, Shivaji, Gangaram, Namdev and Katezari were the faces of Tadoba. it’s now the new generation consisting of Khali, Bajrang, Matkasur, Kankajhari, V7, Kali aka Ginaji and Dewada male.

here is a Kaziranga male that took a bullet from poachers to the head and survived.

you can see his left ear missing along with a huge gash on the head, how this male managed to survive is beyond me.

here is another shot of him below

if you zoom in, you can kind of see how that bullet exploded 1/4 of his upper face.

Thanks. In case of this one, how was it determines to be a bullet? Could've been a rhino or buffalo...
