Vijayarajan Muthu‎ to Tigers of Kanha

Battle royale :
It was one fine evening when we sighted the Gorgeous Link-8 Female emerging out of the pugdundee adjoining the Link-9 Tiraha & sauntering across to the Koylabhatta grasslands. While we were busy photographing her making several attempts to chase herds of Spotted deer, our Guide exclaimed “Sir, Tiger”. Since our eyes were already glued to the viewfinders of our cameras, carefully panning & clicking the Tigress, we brushed aside his enthusiasm with utter disdain (with a Tiger hi toh dekh rahe hai bhai). We were in for a rude shock when our Guide desperately remarked “Arrey nahi Sir, ek aur Tiger aaya hai” & to our utter disbelief, we turned around only to find Neelam, the Collared Tigress emerging out of the same path onto the grasslands. All hell broke loose with herds of Spotted Deer & Barasingha shrieking at the top of their voices while Neelam seemed to be in hot pursuit of the Link-8 Female.
Gauging the presence of another Tigress lurking behind, all the Link-8 Female did was to keep roaring out aloud. Needless to mention, Neelam beat a hasty retreat while Link-8 strolled around the meadows nonchalantly, crossed the road ,plonked herself beside our Gypsy & gave us a look as if asking us if we knew who she really was. It then dawned upon us that the Future Queen of Kanha had arrived.

A lovely Mom at work.
If protecting young cubs from other predators isn’t enough of an arduous task, lactating Tigresses often need to hunt & eat in order to feed their offspring. Being solitary cats, Tigresses undergo several hardships to ensure that their cubs reach adulthood and spread their genes.

Regarding post #75 (last post before this page)
@Vijay Rajan Is not only good in providing rare information but he is equally good in taking awesome images. The subject of his images are very well focused and positioned at right distance. Generally I don't like images in which subject is very far Or very close.
It is always good to take image which show subject clearly and in case of wildlife it should also include little bit habitat.
I see lot of images on facebook but very few of them take care of these things while taking images.

Good work Vijay Like

The only emperor | Kanha.
The sun might be setting on the illustrious life of this most iconic of cats, but his legacy would live on for as long as the winds caress the sun-kissed meadows of Kanha and the Sal trees bloom every spring...

This photo is taken by my guest/friend Satvik Sindhu, a 15 yrs old wildlife passionate boy who was always up before me @ 4;30am, saying....we are getting late for safari when his friends were sleeping all the time. As this hunk was heading towards us it was never easy to turn back to take photos while driving but I really enjoyed this sighting. Posting photo on satvik's request as he gave me full credit of this sighting :) Mukki zone, 14/06/14 evening drive

Munna, the world famous tiger from Kanha, is missing. He moved out of the core after a territorial fight with a younger male. While Munna is moving near the villages of Kanha, making cattle kills, what is the forest department doing to ensure its safety. The elephants deployed to monitor his movement, are also reportedly taken off the task. We hope the department realises the grave danger Munna is in and make appropriate arrangements for his safe return to the park before its too late.

This is an old snap of Link 7 aka chota munna.. taken in summer 2015..

I found him one of the muscular tiger . not so bulky like Bheema , not huge belly guy like kf nor huge fase like uma male. he is just perfect physically. like his Dad. calm on roads and dominant over other tigers ... Bheema , kf , uma are great for sure. but he has some x factors like munna., and having ability to rule over forest . ones he get little old he will surely rock our Jungle....

Kankata... it was his primetime. (2010-13.) When he was always ready to take charge over every tiger. we used to call him Fighter mostly .
Perfect shape body and thick neck.
Year back he gt disappeared . There are many questions and doubts behind his " So Called natural " death... He was also one of the great Tiger of kanha. Before 5 yrs he and budbudi female gifted us another monster like him called Bheema. But still we missing his Roars in jungle...
