There is a world somewhere between reality and fiction. Although ignored by many, it is very real and so are those living in it. This forum is about the natural world. Here, wild animals will be heard and respected. The forum offers a glimpse into an unknown world as well as a room with a view on the present and the future. Anyone able to speak on behalf of those living in the emerald forest and the deep blue sea is invited to join.

which one is this? M or T?
Btw, which one is the oldest? Or are they twins?
(sorry for so many questions and I don't even know if it's possible to answer them all)

That is very interesting, how did you come across this? With all the posts, I can assume you're recently been doing some Mapogo research?  Very cool pics!

@Ngonya I assume this is the bigger-maned male, Othawa M.

The Mapogo Othawa cubs came in 2 litters from 2 females, one from December 2007 and the second one from January 2008. I think M is from the 2007 litter and T from the 2008 one.

I appreciate this information, do you have more photos of this duo? Of course, if it's not inconvenient, may i ask you to post them?

My friend, if you use the Search at the top of the page, and search for "Othawa M", including the quotation marks, it may expedite your request. These two boys are regularly mentioned together, so searching for Othawa M will find the majority of the posts regarding either of them. Most of posts regarding Othawa M and T are in this very thread. Enjoy!

These boys are likely gone. As much as it saddens me to realize it but it's a reality. Sucks we would never know what came of them after 2011 when they disappeared at the age of four. If they've somehow survived and kicking they're 16yo right now. Then again we would never know their male offsprings

Othawa young males

These 2 handsome pretenders made an appearance down south at Christmas time when 2 of the Mapogo killed a young buffalo and they picked up the scent. They were chased off by the 2 titans, who weren‘t overly concerned by their presence in the area initially. There was apparently a short fight the following day and one of the Mapogo did give one of the youngsters a small beating but he is alright.
