It is not that during this year they have been seen very close together, they spent little time together, especially during the confrontation against the Avocas.

Tinyo condition was been deteriorated for a couple of months. Lions tend to patrol for hours and long distances. With Tinyo being weak (at that time) looking very thin. Nhenha had to took the role of patrol on his own the majority of their time. As well, with the pressured of the Northern Avoca males. The both old Gowrie males had a tough task to afront. But they have managed to it pretty well. A clear example, of two wise and strong males

That has nothing to do with their bond. The Birmingham Boys were never closely stuck at the hip from the start of their reign. It's their personalities. It was even said by a guide that when he saw the four together, he knew something was happening. They only ever joined to patrol or on meals or to deal with rivals. But it's clear when the Bboys are making a big move, they move together. Like when they pushed south, they all 4 came together and when Nhenha and Tinyo chased the N'waswitshaka, they did it together. It does not mean they're not closely bonded or don't like each other. It's not like they're growling at each other when they see each other. I mean we just saw a video of Nhenha tracking Tinyo down a few days ago. Some lions stick together more than others. Like Mr T and Kinky Tail, HB and Ginger and even Mohawk and Blondie. But look at the Majingilane, none of them were known to stick to one particular member of the coalition. In fact, it's funny but when it come to the dynamic of the Bboys, it was always Tinyo clinging to Mfumo and Nsuku clinging to Nhenha but rarely the opposite. Nhenha is definitely a loner lion. Always has been but like I said, it does not mean they don't have a bond or don't like each other. Like Tr1x24 said, it's a false narrative.

Without putting up much of fight? Lmao what? They literally pushed them back for 1 and 1/2 years whilst dealing with pressure from South and West. Last year, Mala Mala guides were saying the Bboys were pushing the N Avovas back and Londolozi even said Nhenha chased both by himself. Yes they've lost territory but still hold 3 lionesses and 11 cubs and they've kept a decent bit of territory. Dealt with it pretty well I'd say. Especially for their age. If you think dealing with it well would be chasing down the Avovas to kill them, then idk what your version of a great result would be. Over the last 2 years, they've kept the N'waswitshaka at bay, killed a male and chased out multiple lions on multiple occasions. I'm pretty sure people have even forgotten about the young males in their territory a year ago that Mala Mala reported they found mauled.  Losing territory to the Avovas without losing their lives isn't a bad thing in my book. The Bboys have nothing to cover their backs with like the Majingilane did in their last years of reign. Remember the Majingilane had the entire west of their territory closed off by the borders and only had to worry about the east,whilst the 2 Bboys are surrounded from all sides. Dealt with it pretty well, I'd say.

Not true.. Stop with that narrative pls..except Nhenha occasionaly visiting Tsalalas, both males where together with Kambulas majority of time. 

Also as @Slayerd said, since Nsuku death, Tinyo and Nhenha have doing great job defending their territory, yes they forfeit portion to N. Avocas lately, but they still have enough territory for themselves. 

Interesting how your every comment about Bboys is against them or negative about them, so i would beg you to stop with that and give them credit they deserve..

Old and battered but still in the game - The aging Birmingham male Tinyo! He's beautiful. 

Among the two remaining Birmingham males that are still fairly in control of the Kambula pride, Tinyo is clearly the one who shows his age most now with 11 years. Not only can you see it in his face but more importantly the effects start to get more and more visible on his body. It’s obvious. The movements are stiffer, the hip has become thinner. Over the last months a few sightings showed him worryingly emaciated, to the point that thoughts about his upcoming demise appeared legit.

Therefore it’s all the nicer to see now that he has successfully fought back and regained a lot of condition lately. Sightings in September and October showed him full bellied, and still with that impressive dark mane of his.

However it’s undeniable that the wind of change is blowing through the Sabi Sands Game Reserve and only time will tell how much longer the old veterans can maintain their territory. His brother Nhenha - that much needs to be said - is still in formidable physical shape, pretty much able to compete with every rival that is lurking around them.

Nah. Ever since Avocas begin their conquest, Birminghams were always on the back foot. Nhenha was seen chassing them once on his own, but that was before Avocas really put a challange to Birminghams, just reconnaissance mission of Avocas.

Last year was full of Mala Mala raports "Avocas seen further south than ever before" time after time. There was no instance of Birminghams pushing Avocas back.

From the purely survival point of view it is not. However if they will keeep on lossing pride and territory the question stand if they are able to feed for themselfs without pride females to provide. The question is if it isn't bad think in the long run, not just for the time being.

I'm gonna make a daring guess, but could it be, that you don't really like Bboys?
I think that we must remain factual: the Bboys are still dominant, with a sufficient territory, a certain number of lionesses, cubs to protect and already an existing succession elsewhere. They seem not to suffer too much of malnutrition, whatever the circumstances, which allow it.
The adversity they faced, which was not insignificant, was not enough to prevent this. All in all, it is therefore not absurd to assert that this is a coalition which has not failed, until then.
We may all feel a certain affinity with certain lions or not, but this should not blind us.

Overall The bboys looked to have played out the n. Avoca intrusion well, especially with the shape that tinyo was in, with tinyo being back to health i think  the bboys would make more of a stand,seems all quiet at the minute though
