There is a world somewhere between reality and fiction. Although ignored by many, it is very real and so are those living in it. This forum is about the natural world. Here, wild animals will be heard and respected. The forum offers a glimpse into an unknown world as well as a room with a view on the present and the future. Anyone able to speak on behalf of those living in the emerald forest and the deep blue sea is invited to join.

Birmingham Pride of lions

This old lioness of the Birmingham Breakaway pride has to be the sister of White Dot. I though Stumpy (Tailness) started the Breakaway Pride but I guess they had an old lioness too? She has that typical Birmingham/ Skybed face.

By this time (May 2013) the only pride male left was Smudge. "For now this big guy spends most of his time with the Birmingham pride, and we often hear his powerful roar, still advertising his dominance." Image by Dylan Davies

Caught up with the sunrise stream today, two birmingham sub-adults on Ngala, guide said it was two from the same litter. They were apparently alone but the rest could've just been in a bush close by.

The day is off to an excellent start when the two white lions of the Birmingham pride welcome you on the tar road just after entering Kruger through Orpen gate. Living wild and free.

The oldest Birmingham Breakaway male and sisters are now fully nomadic. They're doing great--- if only BYM knew his half brother was in the area!

Are you sure that these are from the Birmingham breakway pride? At first glance, looks like the Skorro breakaway members

Probably just away from the pride just for a little while if they are indeed Birmingham breakaway subs.. Probably it is caused by Ross males joining the pride.
