There is a world somewhere between reality and fiction. Although ignored by many, it is very real and so are those living in it. This forum is about the natural world. Here, wild animals will be heard and respected. The forum offers a glimpse into an unknown world as well as a room with a view on the present and the future. Anyone able to speak on behalf of those living in the emerald forest and the deep blue sea is invited to join.

This is colombiano male from southern pantanal I talked about last night.

He is so big that Onças do Rio Negro project claimed on their post in early 2017 in the link bellow.

''The jaguars of the Pantanal biome are the heaviest, reaching up to 150 kg. Probably the jaguar below, called Colombiano, weighed close to that.''

I think he is probably nearing the 140ish range.

Check this video.

This video bellow you may have already seen, its colombiano fighting against mancha-preta male, I won't even say who is who cause the size wise already says by itself.

Do you know if Edu knows something regarding Colombiano male??? his size or if he was ever weighed?

I'll ask later today to see if he knows of him.

He's very handsome and big, I can't believe we don't have measurements from him publicized, the biggest jaguars usually go unnoticed.

Edu said

"In fact it is a huge guy but it's so hard to estimate the weight without capture the animal"

Unfortunately he doesn't know more

Marlon du Toit: " A cat that I’ve come to love so much. The Jaguar is a true symbol of power. It’s magnificent in every way. Much like the leopard they too have the ability to adapt to many different habitats & situations making them incredibly successful & widespread across South America.

In the Pantanal of Brazil where I photographed this magnificent male Jaguar they grow very large. In fact, the largest Jaguars are found in the Northern Pantanal.
This male swam like this for most of the late afternoon hunting for caiman, a type of alligator species."

Caatinga Jaguars

After Pampas Jaguars got extinct and pretty much Pampas itself. the Caatinga Jaguars remain to be the rarest and most elusive of the Brazilian jaguars.

IN A PROTECTED AREA IN THE BIOME CAATINGA NORTHEAST BRAZIL, THE BOQUEIRÃO DA ONÇA WITH MORE THAN 850.000 HECTARES THERE ARE LESS JAGUARS THAN PUMAS BUT BOTH SPECIES ARE CRITICALLY ENDANGERED WITH 200 PUMAS AND 30 JAGUARS ( IN 10 YEARS THERE USED TO BE 50 JAGS ).
