Ok. a minor update of map.

It seems that only a Magheni sub adult has survived. (Big Boy). It seems that he has been acepted for Nkuhuma pride. (I'm not very sure of this information)
Mfuno and Matshapiri male definitivily I dont think they return.

Mhangeni pride and Othawa male permamently moved into Singita. Lone Tsalala lionesses lives in northen Londolozi. Also here is the recent Tintswalo update:
"Lions have been prolific in recent times. The Mbiri pride is spending a lot of time around Tintswalo, often being accompanied by the 2 older Avoca/Giraffe males. The pride recently pulled down a large buffalo which provided a much needed meal for them, however the hunt took its toll on some of the members with a few of the youngsters picking up injuries, but in particular one of the older lionesses picked up a nasty injury from a horn swipe to her hind leg which looks to be troubling her immensely. Lions are incredibly tough animals, often recovering fully from such injuries but we will keep an eye on her and hope she makes a full recovery.
After an absence, 5 members of Koppies pride were viewed in the north of the reserve. They all looked in great shape. The only missing lion was the Red road male, but he has been seen twice on his own, once on a warthog kill and he looks more and more impressive every time we see him.
The Talamati pride have been moving through their regular areas in the south, often in the presence of the young Avoca males. One of the females is lactating, and we are hoping to get a good view of the cubs soon"

so there is also Koppies pride in the northen  Manyeleti and two Giraffe males with Mbiri pride (I am not sure after all if there is 2 or 3 of this males in that arena). Quite recently also Junior and Buddy began to move into Manyeleti from the north.

Hello guys!
This thread is waay out of date so i decided to make a quick map of current lion situation in Sabi Sands.
Feel free to reply if you think that something is wrong on this map,it was based on the recent sigtnings of the lions and prides, but ofc it cant be 100% accurate because lions move day to day.

Note: Number of Torchwood pride members might be out of date.

Enjoy!

@Tr1x24 Great job! Thanks for the update. This will be of great help to those who want to follow the lion dynamics.

RE: Maps of Sabi Sand Coalitions Males and Prides - Potato - 11-08-2019

Great job. Just to make clear some thinks:
-Styx and Ximhungwe prides are fully nomadic, constantly on move. Styx pride wenturing just about entire Sabi Sands. Ximhungwe pride is seen in western sector, northen sector and they are also moving out of Sabi Sands.
-Recently 5 Nharu males has been spotted on Buffelshoek, I have no idea however if they are still in Sabi Sands.

Btw maybe you could think on making map on bigger scale, like based on that one: http://www.krugerparkreservations.com/Maps/GreaterKruger_SabiSands_L.jpg. That would be awesome Joking

Yea i know that Styx and Ximhungwe prides are fully nomadic.
Styx,Southern Pride,Tsalala and Ximhungwe prides are listed in the second column top left, those prides are considered to be nomadic or semi-nomadic and they are marked on the map with cutted line.
My bad, i should have emphasized that on the map.

I dont think i have enough information to do such a big map. maybe i can try in the future with north reservers/Timbavati region.
I will try to update the map in the future, maybe make a diffrent/improved one, when some big changes in lion dynamics happen.
But im glad you guys like it, i appreciate it.

No,5 Nharu males are not in that area anymore ,they moved back north.

I didnt include those nomadic coalitions that wander in and out of Sabi Sands, lets wait until they settle down for longer time.

Latest are the Nwashwishaka coalition, this males where seen in Sabi Sabi some months ago and then returned back in Kruger, now they are back again, hanging around Lions Sands. Time will tell, if they will stay this time around and try to make some moves.

Nwashwishaka Males:

"I dont think i have enough information to do such a big map."

That is not a problem. I can help you with that.

"No,5 Nharu males are not in that area anymore ,they moved back north."

I do nnot know where they are althrough Tintsvalo lodge did not report them to be back north (so far at least).

First of all Ginger Matimba is no longer alive.

S. Avocas control Kirkmans Camp and half a Lion Sands only.

Singita is the old territory of Othawa male, he is now mostly in Sabi Sabi, Umkumbe and some parts of Londolozi lately.

RE: Maps of Sabi Sand Coalitions Males and Prides - 239Pu - 11-27-2019

the names i put on the map so Ginger is my mistake not the youtuber , but i'll delete it . unless maybe it is an accurate 2018 map ? might be kinda cool to have a history of champions ?

Map is acurate from mid 2018 when current bordes were established. BTW Nguvu moves again so it is hard to settle his territory on map lel

Yea Nguvu is roaming alot lately,it seems that his territory spans from Singita-western Londolozi-Umkumbe-Sabi Sabi. He is rn back in Signita, will see if he goes south again.

RE: Maps of Sabi Sand Coalitions Males and Prides - Potato - 11-27-2019

I am wandering what the hell makes Mhangeni pride move so much (Nguvu just obviously just follows his food source). I wonder if availability of water source may be a reason.

Updates and changes from the last month/map:

- Mhangeni Big Boy unfortunately passed away on 29.11.2019.
- Nkuhuma young male and 1 Nkuhuma lioness where not seen for over a month, i still put them on the map ( theres 2 unidentified lions/lionesses around Elephant Plains,i hope thats them), lets see if they show up in the future.
- 2 Ximhungwe lionesses are now in the north again, around Simbambili and Elephant Plains area.
- Mhangeni pride and Othawa male Nguvu moved further north closer to their old territory, and are now mostly seen in Londolozi.
- N'waswishaka coalition of 4 young males are added to the map, they where seen in the south for quite some time now and it seems they settled down in that area.
- 2 young Talamati and 2 young Southern Pride males moved further into Kruger and started their nomadic journey, their 2 Southern Pride lionesses are alone in Sabi Sabi.
- 3 cubs from Othawa pride, 11 cubs from Kambula pride and 1 cub from Mhangeni pride are now shown as subadults, as they are over 1 yrs old.
- 1 subadult male from Styx pride is now shown as young male, as he is around 3 yrs old.
- Torchwood pride is still a mystery because of lack of sightings, exact number of their members might not be up to date.
