RE: Tiger Directory - Rishi - 03-30-2020 Collar falling off Chhota Matka. RE: The Terai Tiger - Roflcopters - 03-31-2020 I’m sure someone must have posted this a while back but here is the massive Bankati male of Dudhwa, apparently named after the area that he rules and has a large territory that overlapps with Sathiana and others. he first came to light last month and is the newest male to be seen around Dudhwa’s tourism zone. *This image is copyright of its original author *This image is copyright of its original author Feb/2020 RE: The Terai Tiger - Pckts - 03-31-2020 (03-31-2020, 12:46 AM)Roflcopters Wrote: I’m sure someone must have posted this a while back but here is the massive Bankati male of Dudhwa, apparently named after the area that he rules and has a large territory that overlapps with Sathiana and others. he first came to light last month and is the newest male to be seen around Dudhwa’s tourism zone. Ok, so he's the Bankati male? They were calling him the Sathiana male. RE: Tiger Directory - tigerluver - 03-31-2020 @Rishi is this a recent video? There’s an article regarding a tiger named “Chota Matka” dying a while back due to electrocution so I am curious. Sorry for being out of the loop. There was one report of a collared tiger electrocution from Dec 2018. I don't know if there were multiple tigers known as Chhota Matkasur, but he was around in 2019. RE: Tiger Directory - Roflcopters - 03-31-2020 that news article is wrong, it was Tarachand his brother that was electrocuted in a farm near Bhamdeli village. both brothers were radio-collared, Chota Matka is still very much alive. RE: The Terai Tiger - Roflcopters - 03-31-2020 Amitosh Jaiswal matched the stripes with Sathiana male and it didn’t match, it was then discovered that he was a new male and rules the bankati range of Dudhwa, he has a territory overlapp with several other males. apparently his strip pattern is very similar to Gulrighat male and the locals believe. he’s Gulrighat’s brother. His legs are thick as a pillar. No wonder one swap of a paw and the prey is down. His skull is lion-like. What a specimen. I have this feeling from quite some time that Dudhwa males might just be the biggest of them all. RE: Tiger Directory - parvez - 04-01-2020 Does anyone has pictures of the massive tiger tank male of nagarhole. I knew he was big, but after coming across some pictures of him recently, i was shocked never expected him to be THAT big. Please provide his left and right flank pictures so that I can trace his camera trap pictures. Thanks, RE: Tiger Directory - Roflcopters - 04-01-2020 Yes of course, how could i ever forget. *This image is copyright of its original author *This image is copyright of its original author *This image is copyright of its original author *This image is copyright of its original author *This image is copyright of its original author *This image is copyright of its original author *This image is copyright of its original author *This image is copyright of its original author I’m not even sure if he’s around anymore, seems like South Indian tiger parks just fell off the map. he was well known for his size and was probably the biggest male i ever saw from South India. here is the original tiger tank male that ruled this area for a long time before the new tiger tank male took over from him. *This image is copyright of its original author *This image is copyright of its original author he was severely injured by the new tiger tank male *This image is copyright of its original author *This image is copyright of its original author rumored to have been around 13-14 years of age and ruled the area for a long time. *This image is copyright of its original author hope this helps. RE: Tiger Directory - parvez - 04-01-2020 Wow so many pictures. Thanks. Some of them I have lost as my hard disk was formatted. Two of them were the ones I was looking for and searched in google images and inw. But hardly I can find. I will post his camera trap pictures soon. Thank you once again. Yes, I am back in India. I've been battling health issues hence not been active here. I was actually planning to visit Corbett several times in March and April but the COVID-19 crisis has put a hold on the plans. However, right now that's not important. I hope people are safe and this pandemic is over soon. I am grateful to everyone here though. I am catching up on the information slowly but almost there. I am really impressed by the Dudhwa Males lately and I can't wait to visit. Probably will have to wait till the monsoon is over now. But great going everyone. Thanks for posting the information and such a valuable one. |
