He is very quickly becoming my favourite lion on the #lebombo concession. What a journey he and Xai-xai have had. From nomads to finally taking control of a pride of their own. More to follow... by billdrewmpisi RE: Coalitions of Kruger National Park - Mwk85 - 03-31-2024 Eastern Bank male is in bad shape. Haven't seen anything else since the bottom post was posted earlier unfortunately. No idea of the whereabouts or condition of his partner the South Shishangeni male, sorry. RE: Coalitions of Kruger National Park - BA0701 - 03-31-2024 @Mwk85 , we are having issues with the reply button currently, so I'll reply about EBM this way. That is really heartbreaking, to see the old boy like this. Strange though, in Kruger, for them to euthanize, unless they suspect something like rabies, or injuries caused by man. I truly hope it isn't either of those two. Thanks for the update! RE: Coalitions of Kruger National Park - Gavskrr - 03-31-2024 technically he is currently in this state largely due to human actions, unlike Ncile he is no longer a young lion and apparently after falling into the trap he was no longer able to join his coalition partner which makes any kind of recovery even more difficult. So one thing leads to another. RE: Coalitions of Kruger National Park - Tr1x24 - 03-31-2024 (03-31-2024, 04:38 AM)Mwk85 Wrote: Eastern Bank male is in bad shape. Nomads that old (he is born in 2012) dont make it far, usually under a year since they get ousted, scenario like this happens. Stress and no regular meals take tool much faster in that age. S.Shishangeni is even older then him (born 2010/11) so prob similar scenario will happen (if already didnt). RE: Coalitions of Kruger National Park - Ngonya - 04-01-2024 Snip Tail Mayambula along with his brothers, now dominant males of the Sweni mega pride "It takes courage to lead, especially, to lead one of the biggest prides in Kruger. Meet one of the Mayambula males, one of the big boys that recently rules over the open grasslands of Satara and the Sweni mega pride, with more than 20 lions.
While the females are in charge of providing the pride with food, this male and his buddies, are the ones that keep the territory safe from other males that would kill his cubs and take his females without hesitation.
In this place, there is a lot to loose when you are a king, and a price to pay to maintain that rank."
