RE: Coalitions of Kruger National Park - Brahim - 07-31-2022

Mo Vurhamis Cubs and their mother are in the company of the 2 Hippo Pool Males, but the males seem relaxed so far which is good.

RE: Coalitions of Kruger National Park - Duco Ndona - 07-31-2022

That probably means we need to be sceptical about those being Mo's cubs. Or the lionesses have already accepted their demise and the males just haven't gotten around to do it.

RE: Coalitions of Kruger National Park - Brahim - 07-31-2022

Everyone's pretty sure they are Mos cubs, hippo boys weren't there in time, but maybe Hippos think it's their cubs idk, see what happens

Two of the Mjejane males in the company of a lioness in the Biyamiti area in the Kruger National Park South Africa.

Two of the Mjejane male lions have been seen in recent months exploring territory further north of their usual territory. It appears they are trying to expand their already large territory. It looks like it might be coming at cost though, as can be seen in the video one of the Mjejane males has some serious wounds which appears to be as a result of a fight with other lions. While the one male was in the company of lioness his brother was laying there licking his wounds. Judging by the area of the wounds he is quite lucky to have made it out of that fight, with noticeable wounds to the spine area and inner groin. I can only suspect the conflict might have been with the 3 young Transport dam males who have been present in the area and seemed to have established a territory in the same area over the last year. As the Mjejane males expand their territory it leaves room for other males to come in. It appears Mjejane game reserve has been abandoned with the 2 Hippo Pools males settling in nicely there and one of the lionesses around ampies who has been in the company of the blonde Mjejane since last year and beginning of this year was recently in the company of one the Jock males. We also haven’t seen the blonde Mjejane recently and hope he is with the pride around Gardenia hide.

So it would seem Mjejane are at competition with Transport Dam males, not with young Jocks as some were suggesting hmm

RE: Coalitions of Kruger National Park - Brahim - 08-01-2022

@Potato That's what big on wild said based on nothing, Adam zimmerman went to see mjejane males and found young jock mating there and asked rangers and they said mjejane and young jocks had a scrap and one mjejane is MIA, one injured and they moved to Biyamiti. And adam said young jocks had visible marks on face like they been in a fight. Doesn't seem like Mjejane are expanding when one is missing , and one is beaten.
