Seeing the white gene is actually a pretty bad disability for lions and the whole mess around white tigers.
I hope nothing comes from this. The sooner that gene goes extinct the better.

He's gotta be the fattest wild lion I've ever seen

Disability? Why you think so?

RE: Coalitions of Kruger National Park - Duco Ndona - 07-26-2021

Its much harder to hide or sneak up prey for a lion without their natural colouring.

I dont think theres that much disadvantage (if any) to call it disability..

Theres no evidence or research made (except are guess) that white lions have more difficulty on hunts then normal lions..

In fact, wild white lions are not clean and pure white like zoo white lions, they are more brownish.

Also, in summer seasons, there is no difference if you are white or brown, because grass is green, only advantage that normal ions have are in winter seasons, but i dont think its that much of a difference..

The white fur trait wouldn't survive in the gene pool if it was very debilitating. The trait could be an asset in extremely hot weather.

Drop-Lip the last Kumana male, "according to" Brian Rode the old male "seems" to have lost control of the Shishangaan pride to the young male Maputo who has been spotted with two of the Shishangaan pride lionesses, missing the sub-adults and two lionesses not seen at the Singita Lebombo concession.

RE: Coalitions of Kruger National Park - Brahim - 07-26-2021

@titose the Shishangaan pride doesn’t have subs. It consists of 5 adult lioness and 4 cubs. One of the lioness had a badly injured leg a month back and couldn’t keep up with pride so she maybe dead leaving 4 now. Plus the pride split when Maputo and Kumana fought before so the other half must be hiding those 4 cubs (one of those cubs is sick ( lost an eye and other injuries already) Shish pride not doing so well.

The impressive Senior Mbiri & Rockfig. The Nsemani males seen near Satara recently. Senior Mbiri at the front of the picture is a son of the Northern Matimbas and older brother to the two famous Mbiri boys Zigzag and Shaka. Senior Mbiri was born in 2011, after losing his brother and being unwelcome back into his pride he set out again and found the Rockfig male and formed the Nsemani coalition.

The Rockfig male sitting behind was born in early 2009. This male was fathered by the three old Ross males. Not much is known about his nomad life he was seen time to time in the timbavati. But he is most famous for being seen in 2017 partnered with a legend, the last Northern Matimba, who was one of the fathers of his soon to be partner Senior Mbiri. It is extraordinary how things work in the wild .They have controlled the Nsemani pride since late 2017 and have remained their dominant males till this day. Both males are past their prime but still look like strong formidable lions. Hopefully this coalition will hold their reign for some time

If he was born in 2011 then he could have been sired by any of the Matimbas.

Is Casper the boldest of the coalition?  The slowest?  Least likely to receive help from his brothers? It seems he often has injuries consistent with getting tag-teamed by rivals.  Maybe his bros have injuries as well and they just get photographed less?

I think him being a white lion makes any scratches or superficial injuries more visible. He does seem to be a bit of a scrapper though.
