RE: Coalitions of Kruger National Park - Spalea - 04-15-2021 @"Brahimlegend" : About #3600: impressive wound, bravo to the vets teams ! RE: Coalitions of Kruger National Park - Herekitty - 04-15-2021 The story of the Madodas of Kapama Game Reserve. The first and least known male was known as Felix, a massive dark maned male who was said to have been imported to Kapama from Karongwe Reserve in the early to mid 2000s to boost lion numbers. When he was moved he was separated from his brother who fathered the big Karongwe male Zeus. Image by Dave Rilstone, 2005. *This image is copyright of its original author Felix was the victim of a paid hunt in the reserve in 2012. Image by Newby Garonga, 2009 *This image is copyright of its original author Felix and Makulu Madoda were both large and fierce males who sometimes encountered each other, but because they were evenly matched, they generally kept out of each others way. Felix and Makulu Madoda hanging out together, but apart in 2008. He also fought and bettered his son Moria Madoda, the one eyed King a number of times, until 2013/14 when they became equally matched and Makulu vacated to his his son half of the reserve. In 2017 they attacked Moria Madoda and in the process he lost his eye. They did however, spare his life and he feld to the south of the Kapama where he lives to this day. I didn't know that One Eye is still alive, i also didn't know that Kapama/Hoedspruit males are down to 2 either.. Any info what happened to the 3rd male? RE: Coalitions of Kruger National Park - Psyckoo - 04-15-2021 Did we know who fathers South Shishangeni or did we have some clues of who can been ? No, but most likely Old Gomondwanes. RE: Coalitions of Kruger National Park - Brahim - 04-15-2021 @Herekitty Good story thanks for sharing. @Tr1x24 one Eye is alive and well looks great still. Moria Madoda, one Eye is still south of the reserve with his two lionesses. Hoedspruit Coalition are now down to two, third one had a hip injury for long time and now hasn’t been seen in months, I held out hope even when rangers kept saying he’s dead now for months but yeah he’s gone. RIP Some recent pics of Moria by daniyala torlage from February. The picture of Moria with two lioness is from Lesley in april this month . And last picture from nitininthewild RE: Coalitions of Kruger National Park - Brahim - 04-15-2021 One of the Gomondwane males looking like a tank. Near croc bridge today. That's a lot of inbreeding. RE: Coalitions of Kruger National Park - Tr1x24 - 04-15-2021 (04-15-2021, 10:12 PM)TinoArmando Wrote: He's a really good looking male. Also age is also questionable to match, as Jock males started to occupy thru 2016, so when takeover was complete plus mating and pregnancy he would be at best be born in mid 2016,most likely late 2016 and he is definitely older then that.. Do we know if he comes from Lubyelubye pride or some other pride from that area? RE: Coalitions of Kruger National Park - Brahim - 04-15-2021 He comes from Lubyelubye pride and yeah if he doesn’t look like jocks then he’s old lubyes son. Same stuff with Charleston males had to wait till they got older to know who their dads actually were |
