Soma 3 male lions at 10:40 around Skukuza. Are those Phabeni/S1 males?

Talamati was last seen roaming Manyeleti and Sabi Sands in 2019 alone, after he and Mhangenis where around Pretoriuskop in 2018..

Althrough some of you guys are saying that 2 H2-2 males are not Mhangenis, i think they might be, similarity in face structures are there..

Those are same males no? And seen in the same area, left Mhangeni in 2017/18 and right Scared Nose H2-2/H1-1 male in 2020

Is this recent? Doesnt look like them.

RE: Coalitions of Kruger National Park - Brahim - 03-12-2021

@Tr1x24  Talamati was last seen with mhangeni. Apart from that lion sands time .Where’s the sighting of him in manyeleti?

RE: Coalitions of Kruger National Park - Brahim - 03-12-2021

Those h2-2 males just don’t look like
Mhangeni and a lot of people have tried to match them in past but nothing does match even ears etc . One mhangeni boy many know very well he’s very unique looking and the other had some wave scar on his nose for years  which made him easy to tell. Even that picture comparison you just posted @Tr1x24 to me doesn’t look like the same guy, eye and face. There’s a couple of males in the area apart from  h2-2 and mhangeni they also look like mhangeni but aren’t them. But here two pics of mhangeni. Plus no ones found one thing to suggest or match anything between h2-2 an mhangeni apart from looks which to me they don’t look alike

He was seen in early to mid 2019 alone in Manyeleti, and in late 2019 as you said in Lion Sands..

If you think of this sighting from March 2020 near Pretoriuskop :

It was described as Talamati and Mhangeni, but we can see the male in the back is indeed the H2-2 male with scared nose, first male also looks like his brother H2-2 male..

Scar nose h2-2 male

So if they are not Mhangenis, then Mhangenis where not seen since late 2018..

Which could explain why Talamati was alone in 2019..

RE: Coalitions of Kruger National Park - Brahim - 03-12-2021

Also this is the guy people say is the More recognisable mhangeni of the h2-2 males . It doesn’t match his whisker

The most worrying thing is the poaching in this area is crazy. They are on the border, I hope that wasn’t the case but idk often crosses my mind

Yes, poaching around Phabeni and Numbi Gates is a problem..

2 Shabeni males where poached there at the same time in 2018 i think :

Also Mazino was also caught in snare near Phabeni Gate in 2019..

RE: Coalitions of Kruger National Park - Brahim - 03-12-2021

Mazino wasn’t caught in snare turned out to be a porcupine quill on closer inspection. But his death later is questionable. He was found by a road and they chose to put him down. Yet they see young males with broken backs crying in pain and don’t do anything.

Snip tail Mpondo @ Nwaswitshaka dam. A lion who started out as south as can be on Mjejane game reserve. Formed a coalition with 3 unrelated guys and his brother and now is dominant here this far north . Insane the journey he has had.

Well, lets hope that new Phabeni males doesnt end up poached, they sure will be impressive and with that magnets for poachers..

Here is the one from today on Kruger Sightings :
