Scar Mbiri looks very impressive, one of the bulkiest and most muscular lions out there, but theres definetly more taller lions in Kruger, Scar and Shaka are quite similar in height, Scar is only much bulkier.

2 new H7 males dont look any smaller then Mbiris, beautiful specimens also :

Yeah, I guess the Nharhu also are big males. As per Cathan Moore, They're already bigger than Shaka (Mbiri male)

A new powerful coalition on the rise (on tshokwane/S37) - the 5 Trichardt males
Seen these boys for the first time last year with Hanno Erasmus. Fast forward a year later and it seems these boys have settled nicely in the area with cubs of their own and looking more impressive than ever. Their future looks bright and I’m sure they will grace us with many sightings over the next few years.
It’s a positive way to end off the year with a new coalition on the rise, after we’ve seen many of the older coalitions reaching the final stages of their reign.
Thank you for the tip Graeme Mitchley, you had me driving this area nearly every day when the road wasn’t closed

Yea i think these 5 boys where photographerd on Mazithi Dam (or Kumana Dam) i think earlier this year, photo was posted here..

Somebody said on FB that they came from s126/Sweni Dam area, around 1 year ago..

Two big huge lions obstinately following an other dominant male lion into its territory. But this one doesn't seem to fear them, appearing on the contrary to lure them more deeper into its territory. Did it expect a fellow's help ?

" Some interesting territorial behaviour we witnessed a few years ago as a coalition of 2 big nomadic male lions (known as Stompie and One Eye) were intruding on the 2 Sand River males' territory in the Kruger National Park. They isolated 1 of the Sand River males and were following him as he was roaring and scent marking. Eventually an Elephant bull chased and separated the lions and the Sand River male carried on marking and roaring without any incident with the 2 nomads. He was trying to locate his brother as he would be no match for the 2 big nomadic males on his own! New male Lions in an occupied territory will usually test the strength of resident males first and often avoid conflict initially if the risk is too high! What eventually happened here is that the single Sand River male located his coalition partner and they eventually chased the 2 nomadic males away over the next few weeks. "

There where 3 Old Sand River males, not 2.

And this was just 2 neigbouring coalitions stand off.

Old Sand Rivers controled territory of todays S. Avocas and s129 males, also known as Marula Loop (H4-1 and H1-2 roads, east of Skukuza), while Robsons where dominant further towards Tshokwane, Kruger Tablets/Mantimahle area.

Those 2 coalitions where dominanting that area from around 2006 to idk, prob 2010, when Toulon males came in Marula Loop, Sand Rivers moved deeper into Kruger.

One Eye Robson died around 2013, and Stompie made a coalition with his 2 sons, but idk where they went..
