He's looking good, I'm glad for him.

He is looking really good...his mane is already black! I hope he survives into adulthood. There are many fights ahead of him as a solitary lion. It would be great if he joins the two talamati males...

He has a partner. I'm not sure if they saw him with his new brother at this sighting, but in the one before this one, they were together.

Beautiful manes on those boys

Majestic coalition, healthy and in their prime - without too many battle scars.
Which area do they control?

Young male lion crippled for life - which might be a short one too.

Kruger National Park 27/1/2017 Eastern Bank male and a lioness from the Biyamiti pride. The 5 Eastern Bank males come from the Eastern Bank pride and they were born in 2012. The fathers are 3 Toulon males.

Magnificent brothers !! Kruger National Park

Matjulu coalition near Berg en Dal - very impressive young males !!
The Matjulu Males are a coalition of 3 young male lions and they dominate the Berg en Dal area . The Matjulu males come from the Lukimbi pride in the Lukimbi concession . The Matjulu males are quite similar to the 5 Eastern Bank males in the fact that both coalitions dominate a prime territory at such young age .Thanks so much to William Elsworth for this very interesting info.

This one had a gaping sore on his left front paw where his dew claw was totally ripped off !

The one with the ripped out claw looks like an elephant with a sore tooth - not a happy chappy!

Comment from Junior's facebook page:

Junior and his buddy in a scrap a week ago w/an older male near Orpen area thought to be possibly a Skybed male. Both parties survived w/minor scrapes. Junior and his buddy were seen days later on Manyeleti and guide says they looked 100% fine.
