Grizzly Adams® is developing new film and television series projects based on the exploits of the real John "Grizzly" Adams, whose life inspired the original motion picture and series. The popularity of Grizzly Adams grew rapidly after the 1970s TV series, "The Life and Times of Grizzly Adams" broke ratings records for NBC. Today however, few realize there was a real "Grizzly Adams" who migrated to the Sierra Nevada Mountains to escape the confines of civilization after participating in the great California Gold Rush. The new Grizzly Adams story versions will better expand on the life of this person, who western historians refer to as "the greatest California mountain man ever." Isn't that the man famous for "understanding" bears when in reality he would beat and abuse them in order to break them? Not to mention who knows how many he killed...
