- The case of shifting two tigresses from Ranthambore waiting for the court clearance.
- The situation will be clear only after the court hearing, today on November 12.
All preparations are in place for shifting tigresses T-99 and T-102 from Ranthambore. But the Rajasthan High Court had ordered a hold on further tiger shifting to the new reserve, as the petition filed against shifting of T-91 without NTCA's nod, was still pending.
Special training has also been given to the staff, while the two are being tracked & monitored. Enclosures are also ready in the reserve area and arrangements have been made for the prey-base augmentation.
Permissions have been granted by NTCA to relocate 100 chitals from Bikaner, 50 chitals, 60 Black deer and 40 sambar deer from Delhi zoo.
Yesterday 25 pairs of Nilgai & cheetal were released.

Another poor castaway is T-38 living in Kuno for past 5 years. He left Ranthambore TR for Kuno in 2011 & started permanently living there since 2013.
T-71 before him may not have died yet (last clicked in 2015) & it's suspected that that young male T-77 may also be there.

On the last week of October an unidentified tiger was sighted feeding on cattle-kill in Kuno by shepherds Lalaji Yadav and Girraj Yadav, residents of Kahral village, who went in the jungle on motorbikes to find their lost buffalo.
Before this incident there'd been another sighting in July, few mile from the area. Apparently a photo was taken them but i can't find it.
A video of another sighting is available here, but not sure if it's from Kuno-Palpur.

He was walking in front of our jeep and as he looked back to us, we had to off the Jeep engine & trust me, no one among us had dare to look into the eyes of this Beast

About six months ago, the female gave birth to two cubs. Now those cubs have grown too. Both of these tigers and tigress tend to roam in the area, with their cubs. Buffaloes, bulls, sheep and goats have been hunted many times on by them.
For the past three months, their pugmarks have been found quite a few times near the Jhareela village. Ruralfolk and farmers are frightened after the tiger along with the tigress was seen in front of Chandrapal Singh's house in the village on Friday night.
Because of the movement of tigers in the field, now farmers are finding it difficult to take care of & protect their crops, causing economic loss to them.
On being informed of the arrival of the tigers in Jhreela village, the forest department employees arrived on the spot, started teaching & monitoring the animals.
The villagers said that the tiger comes to the village every now and then. That's why, after sunset, nobody cares get out of their homes. Forest department workers say that they are constantly engaged in keeping an eye on the tiger pair. The movement of these tigers is spread from the area around the Needar Dam to the other side of valley of Jakhoda town.

It's nice to know that Sultan is alive and doing well, he was always one of my favorite Ranthambore males but never was very comfortable around the crazy crowds.
