He should be fine, many big cats go through superficial wounds like this.
Gabbar, Prince of Pench, Naaka Kata, to name a few all had nasty rostrum wounds.
Big cats are resilient, these wounds come with the territory. He'll be all good in no time, he'll be scarred but this isn't a beauty pageant.

Scars do usually make it easier to ID, especially with lions.

29 September (morning)
- Went back to the Styx, Birmingham and cubs. While we were there another one of the males came to join and the males had a bit of a fight. Seems as though this one isn't liked very much seeing as he already has a huge wound on his face.

One of the Birmingham boys staring at a Elephant herd moving towards him. After a while the ellies chased him away but the male soon made his way back to his kill.
