RE: The Birmingham Males - Herekitty - 10-31-2018

Two big, scarred brothers drinking. It looked like a statement; cementing their alliance. A silent war cry. “This place belongs to us; we claim this water. We took it together and we will defend it together - shoulder to shoulder”. Steeling themselves for challengers that will come. Fights that will happen. Many will be mere skirmishes with untried youngsters, some more testing. One or two will be brutal.

The presence of the male lion is like no other. This one walked off as dark fell, roaring into the night. Unforgettable. Image by Stefanie Deker, November 1, 2018

A male lion lifts his head into a stiff breeze. What could he possibly smell that we couldn’t? Was it females, another male or a potential kill nearby?

They killed two or three lionesses when they tookover the land from the Matimba males.

They have not killed any male.

You're right, I had forgotten about that. My post was mostly focused on the time they became dominant, but yeah I remember now.

Tshokwane yes. BBboys killed him in october of 2017 at Nkorho. I think Were nsuku and tynio who surrounded the male. Looks like nsuku is the most agressivo against other males. He was the lead in the attack of bboys against northern avocas.
