About #438: candid question: by looking at the narrow extremity (compared with some tigers' ones) of the cave lion's fang root, this is an additional proof we are faced with a lion and not with a tiger. In other words, cave lion was a lion and not a tiger wasn't it ? Are we able to answer this question through that, by examining the fangs ?
May be this question is solved now, but it has been being a debate for long time...

The Cave lion is diversified, the majority got narrow root, while a minority got broad root like the tiger canine teeth.
