Its not the length thats impressive to me, its the girth.

A little more info on "deep Blue"
A clip going viral across the web today depicts Mauricio Hoyos Padilla, one of our Shark Week shark experts, defiantly poking his body out of a shark cage and high-fiving Deep Blue, a massive great white shark spotted off of the coast of Mexico's Guadalupe Island:
Her pregnancy at the time made her appear even larger -- Deep Blue is estimated to be approximately 20 feet in length. She was featured prominently in Shark Week 2014 programming. Check out some more official Shark Week footage of the giant shark:

Just looking at the shark, I'd say the shark has to be 3 1/2 to 4 times the length of the person in the video.
Difinately a 18-20 footer. Surely above average.

The best scale is the 2nd video of the 22' boat and she swims directly under it and you can see her length compared to it. NTM her absolute massive girth, pregnant or not, shes as robust as a school bus.

15+. BTW 15' is a huge fish. 18-20' is in record territory. Just my opinion.

Wow, pretty ignorant remark. So you spit in the face of the actual Marine biologist who specifically acknowledge and estimate the sharks size?
So lets compare the qualifications

He is quoted as being the largest GWS Mauricio has ever seen, estimated by the other Marine Biologist to be around 20', scaled under a boat that is 22' (both are viewed under water *same "magnification" occurs*) and obviously looks every bit of 18'-20' which is not unreachable for GWS.
So your initial estimation is wrong and you chose to discredit people who have dedicated their lives to these animals in favor of your opinion?
I think I'll trust the experts estimations over your estimation that she is a 15' GWS (also curious since you estimated her to be 16'-18'+ initially then changed it to 15'?) which is pretty average for a full grown female.

After watching the vid several times, I stand by my opinion. From the angles presented its
impossible to accurately gauge the sharks size. "Generally" speaking, its a very large fish.
Countless bioligists and so-called experts tend to exaggerate estimates. Its human nature.
