" On this cool, overcast day, Scotia was found sleeping soundly on a rocky outcrop in a drainage line. She was completely unperturbed by the game viewers as we approached her and only every now and then lifted her head, groomed herself and then dropped her head back down to her rocky pillow. "

" On Patrol.

Male leopards have massive territories and will spend the majority of their time patrolling, scent marking and rasping, making sure that all other males know who this area belongs too.
As the males have much territories than the females, they can often have 3-4 different females in their territory and in order to successfully spread their genetics, it is crucial that they patrol on a regular basis.

About this leopard according to Trevor McCall-Peat's site: " On Patrol.

A male leopard I saw many years ago when I worked at Londolozi. I was fortunate enough to spend some time with him while I was recently at @sabisabireserve
It’s amazing to think this guy is 11 years old and still going! Just imagine the kind of life he has lived in an area teaming with other predators! To hunt, patrol and survive all on his own says it all! "

" We were fortunate enough to come across this male leopard that took an opportunity with some unsuspecting impala approaching a waterhole. He was successful and was in the process of suffocating the male impala when a big herd of elephants decided that they wanted to drink at the waterhole too. Most of the elephants did not even notice Xovonekela and his kill with some elephants walking to within meters of him; neither leopard nor elephants flinched. "

" We went out in search of lions and came across Scotia female leopard stalking impala in the distance as well as scent marking and stopping to groom herself. "
