"Seen on safari this weekend:
A past territorial male leopard, an extremely old face that has not been seen in ages - Xihangalas - was found on Saturday morning deep within Maxabeni's territory. He’s looking very old and full of wounds which seems like he has been in a few confrontations just before making a presence on to the reserve."

Had a very interesting yet nerve racking encounter between Mvula and Tingana West from the lodge. Mvula was having a drink totally unaware of Tingana watching him. As Mvula laid down under a small bush, Tingana sneaked closer and closer. As he got within 2meters from Mvula he jumped on top of him, but Mvula fought back immediately. The fight was over within seconds and both males went their separate ways.

Little Bush and her cub were on a baby kudu kill this morning when Maxabeni turned up. Seeing one leopard is special, but seeing 3 leopards together is truly amazing!

"The stocky and heavy set Mxabene is one of our favourite male leopards on our traverse. In this sighting he was seen stalking a zebra but, just like Tatowa, the hunting attempt proved to be unsuccessful."

Dominant Piva male leopard.
We were fortunate to see a lot of this big boy this trip.Here he is climbing a tree to get to one of the the impala kills he had made in very challenging light.Piva had stock piled 3 seperate impala kills all in nearby trees.

Maxabeni was still seen around the remains of Little Bush's recent kill, a new born kudu calf. We watched him slowly walking in the road, just after sunset, marking his territory and resting until we reached the entrance to Bush Lodge.
