From Sabi Sabi Private Game Reserve:
"The Kashane male was found again after the last encounter with Maxabeni, looking good and no sign of any permanent damage. He had quite a fright as he was walking along and Floppy Ear came wondering towards him with her two cubs. He spotted her and ran for the hills!"

The great Mbavala, from Lion Sands Game Reserve.
"Your heart beats faster… You hold your breath. Your head fills with wonder and awe… These are just some of the feelings you’ll experience when one of these Big Cats casually saunter past your game drive vehicle. Close enough to see its whiskers!"

Quarantine male.
"The quest to find Mr Q...
Before our recent Big Cat Safari to the Sabi Sands, I asked a couple of people who their favourite leopard was.
Some of them answered Karula, some of them answered Mvula and others said Tingana.
Yet the clear favourite was a leopard named Quarantine or Mr Q as some would call him.
We found 8 different leopards on our trip, and we were very fortunate to find Quarantine on our third day, lying on a termite mound, and I quickly realised why he was the overwhelming favourite of so many people.
He is a massive leopard and will be 4 years old in December.
His whole demeanour and presence is filled with pride and confidence and his markings are just as impressive.
Can you see the "Pound" marking above his left eye?
That is one of his most iconic markings and makes it pretty easy to identify him.
We managed to spend quite a lot of time with Quarantine and we also found him on our fourth day in the Sabi Sands.
I sincerely hope to see much more of this magnificent cat in the future."

Tingana male.
""A leap of eight..."
Our recent At Close Quarters Big Cat Safari to Djuma Private Game Reserve in the Sabi Sands certainly produced the goods and everyone filled up memory card after memory card!
This is the monstrous Tingana male leopard, the eighth individual leopard, we found in a space of two days.
Just look at that dewlap!!
This was one of the big boys I desperately wanted to see and we didn't have to venture too far to find him, as he came to drink at our lodge's waterhole!
He also vocalised a couple of times during the night which was spine-chilling!
The eight leopards we found were:
Karula, Mvula, Xivula, Makhombo, Quarantine, Tingana, Hosana and Xongile.
Not too bad for a week in the Sands"

The great Bicycle Crossing male, from Umkumbe Safari Lodge.
"Look who we spotted making the rounds on his usual turf yesterday afternoon: Bicycle Crossing! This well known male leopard has a well worn pathway that traverses the riverbed in front of the lodge, and we caught him here just as we were leaving for game drive. What a way to kick off!"

"The Bicycle Crossing male was seen within the first twenty minutes of the evening game drive with Umkumbe, utilising his favourite pathway that winds its way across the Sand River."
