Thats mostly because of the documentary that came out in 2015, that documentary was succesfull worldwide and Mapogos became the most famous lions in the world, more famous then the Notch and his sons.

Not exaggerated. Even as a dominant males they did not rely much on their females to provide food and were often found on their own kills. Also after loosing their territory to Salati males, two last remaining Mapogos even in such advanced age and physical condition far from their prime they were able to feed for themselfs which is in fact unssual as great most of males past age of 10 after lossing their territory doesn't survive long.

When Mapogo control the north of Sabi Sands, who was the dominant males in south, Goulfe course males, Toulon males ?

Rollercoaster males, then Golf Course, then Toulons and KNP males..thats from around 2002/3 until post 2010..

@Potato

About #2063: I never doubt that male lions are quite capable to efficiently hunt. I don't know exactly why I wrote "Exaggerated or not ?", perhaps because I was regreting that no one of their spectacular hunt (on giraffe, hippo, rhino) was clearly shown even if I know that it would be exceptionnal, having to be exactly at the right place at the right time.
