RE: Other male lion coalitions from Masai Mara - Gamiz - 09-12-2016 He is one of the three young male lions ( suspected from Rekero pride), recently join in the Moniko females,`` though not yet stable...., little did he knew what a wait him''. Last night i decided to do a night drive with my guests, just a few metre away from camp, hyenas started laughing which i taught someone had food so we drove towards there- i found him feeding on a kill surrounded by more than twenty or so hyena. We stoped and enjoy the african night calls. few minutes later Orbanoti ( one of the old male lions who used to be Moniko pride Kings, nowdays stayed with Iseketa females) was sneaking in for a serious fight......, the young male was beaten up and chased through some thorny bushes and ran for his dear life'''! it was good news for Iseketa girls and their precious cubs since the protector was around for their safety, at a right time. Orbanoti roar to signal his presence in his territory. Credits Dickson Olkisonkoi *This image is copyright of its original author Very close to Masai Mara... RE: Other male lion coalitions from Masai Mara - Gamiz - 09-12-2016 From Mara Lion Project Yesterday early morning, a young male from the KWS pride bask in the sun then he started calling. Shortly a young female from the same pride came from the hills and sat behind him. They then crossed a stream to the hills opposit. 3KM or so away, a female leads 3 sub adults towards the same hills. six of the KWS lions will be resting here for the day. *This image is copyright of its original author *This image is copyright of its original author These two males, Lolpapit ( which means hairy guy in Maasai) and Olbarnoti ( which means younger guy ) are looking bigger and healthy. They were with the Enguyanai female with two cubs. *This image is copyright of its original author *This image is copyright of its original author
RE: Other male lion coalitions from Masai Mara - Tshokwane - 09-12-2016 Scar with a bit of a limp, credits to Arthur Reiter. I'm not also sharing the comment made on the publication where I saw this because I think it's overreacting in the usual way women do. Yes, he's limping and has been for a while, but I don't see anything wrong with that. He has 3 brutes of brothers that can help him if needed and, besides, remember when the older Birmingham male was injured in the front paw and couldn't put any weight on it? Yet he's 100% ok now. To top it off, Scar has been seen, wait for it, mating with a lioness from the Rongai pride I think. Click on it to play. This evening on our afternoon drive we encountered two males who were chasing each other. One being chased was blondie and the other one who was the Victor had darker manes. After about 10 minutes of running up and down, Blackie and lipstick from Topi plains/Rhino ridge came out of the thickets and were after the two males chasing each other. MOHICAN was roughly beaten in the morning and we saw him in the bushes in the morning but missed the whole action. From the photos posted by Jackson Naurori this morning the two males who beat up Romeo II and MOHICAN were of the same age and one was the one we saw this afternoon. Romeo II was seen by Mara Toto while MOHICAN was still lying down, too weak to move as per Anthony Tira . To my assumptions the male who was being chased was the intruder/nomadic male lion at Olare Rok Conservancy, and could he be Moja? Photos are yet to follow in the next one week as we try to identify on who they were. Dickson Olkisonkoi have a look at Jackson Nauru photos and tell us if the dark maned lions are Olbarnoti and Lolpapit. There is a lot of confusions on the names of who was beaten up at double cross area.
