The Dec 2023 updates on the Naboisho, OMC and MNC have been uploaded by MPCP.
Some questions anyone please clear them:
1) The post on Naboisho Conservancy mentions the 2 Ilkisiusiu lions Ole Cook and Lambalang. Are they sired by the 5 Rekero lions(Notch grandsons) who controlled entire Naboisho for so long?
2) The post mentions 6 lionesses in the Oldikdik pride. Are they all daughters of Olerai Olekiti?
3) Who sired the 4 lionesses in the Iseketa pride?

Yes, I read the news on Twitter earlier this morning.
There is this video of Jicho going around in a circle after being blind in the right eye as well.

I feel heartbreaking as it might be to see the king's struggles, KWS (Kenya Wildlife Service vets) should have let nature take its course.

Jicho was one of five Enkoyanai boys and despite being blind in one eye, he was very aggressive.
Born in Enkoyanai pride and Sired by Lolparpit and Olbarnoti. He along with his four brothers took over the whole Mara North Conservancy. He was in his prime age.

Tbh this is an extremely rare occurrence where I agree wholeheartedly with the decision made, nothing good would have come from him having a natural death. Just from the video of him walking in circles, it’s clear he wasn’t doing well and I’d argue putting him down instead of waiting until he eventually dies from hunger, dehydration or even getting hurt from prey and/or other lions is the correct choice.

Let's not forget he might have also become a danger to humans as with no sight he might have preyed on anything in close proximity. Good decision by KWS as long as his good eye was definitely going to be blind. So many times we see lions get eye injury to find out it wasn't the actual eye. Stull have no clue how it happened. Could have been lioness he wawas mating with? What a shame. So many 1 eyed lions and thankfully they don't loose the other much.

According to LionLovers, one guide said it happened with his brothers fighting over food but it’s not confirmed.

They could have just zoned off the area and let nature take it course. I don't think it would matter much in the long end as it just saved him from starving to death. Which is why it was probably even considered.

That his partners are the main culprit does not surprise me the slightest. Food fights can be fierce and lions are not above attacking their partners if pushed. All it would take is a quick slash to the eye. Much like Nhenha did to Nym.
An fight with rivals would have likely resulted in his death or at least would have caused more damage. As the attacker would have no issue mauling him before even realizing what happened.

Depiction of a murderers gang. 5 huge males always together within the Masai Mara.

" The Lions who killed the lion Jassie and most of the legendary lions. The bloody Enkoyunai alliance

Five brother lions,
They're killers, fearless and merciless.
They have complete confidence in their immense strength.
Their terrifying gaze scares their enemies.
They've proven, in every sense of the word, that the lion is a symbol of bravery, power, and ferocity.
They're the ones who killed the legendary lion, Jessie, the Lion Wanderer.
And they're also the ones who killed the legendary lion, Logul.
And the great lion, Olikity, too.
And many others.
"

Isn’t that consecutive days they’ve successfully hunted buffalo and yet ppl never wanna give male lions credit when it comes to hunting.

My 2023 tribute to one of the lions that started my journey to learning more about these amazing animals.  I dislike cats, so to make me adore these creatures was something.

Anyway.  May you be running on all 4 legs somewhere Spearboy!!!

So sad that this boy got impaired due to the great ambition of trying to join a coalition of 4.
RIP Spearboy Disappointed . I hope you'll born again, and this time got the opportunity of forming the coalition you always wanted.

Confirmed now that Jichu got blind after a flight with his brothers.
Unfortunate.
