They were fearless Kings from days gone by, but the pride shares a difficult fate to this day. Long live Oloololo!

There's a big concern coming from Mara is that there are two males that are currently missing- 1/3 Salas males, Orkitok, and 1/4 Black Rock males, Oloshipa. Oloshipa didn't return with his brother, Olobor, when Olobor came back alone from Talek last weekend.

I just hope there is no human conflict happening to them.

Agreed, it sounds concerning. Could you share who the source to this info is?

Its all over FB lion group from "Lions of the Mara". Supposedly someone reported Orkitok was with Rekero Pride which is his usual behavior. But I can't confirm that post.
>Edit....
Okitok was not with them. Video was posted of Rekero girls taking down a buff and no sign of Orkitok.<

I had no idea about Oloshipa.

It is bound to happen. Both areas are HUGELY impacted with cattle. Same where Jesse2 died. Get ready for the reports cause their most likely going to come sooner or later.

Dec 7 was posted, both brothers together.

Male lion in the first pic is stated to be Oloshipa. Identification was made by Masaimara_bigcats, she follows the lives of cheetahs and lions in the area very closely so any identification made by her is usually accurate.

Couple of Black Rock males with the Rongai Pride, eating a Topi. One of the Black Rock males chases one of the young males from the pride. If you watch from 2:44, the young male being chased has some sort of large knot on his back, just in front of his left rear leg. Not sure what that is from. One of my dogs has a lipoma (a collection of fatty cells), not nearly this big, but similar in appearance, so perhaps that is what it is, though I don't recall seeing one on a lion before, certainly not one as big as this.

Oloimina hogging the kill and  and Lorkulop chases the young male. I wonder if that young male is the single older cub/sub that watches over his really new and young cousins/brothers all the time! Hes getting real big if so and I've never noticed that lump on him.
