RE: Other male lion coalitions from Masai Mara - Mohawk4 - 09-05-2021 Ol Donyo Paek male A vicious confrontation that ended tragic. Suasage tree dominant male was seriously injured by the two Serengeti nomadic pride and died two days after the attack. The Suasage tree pride has juvenile cubs and it's not clear if they were too attacked by the incoming pride. https://www.facebook.com/maratriangle *This image is copyright of its original author FAREWELL TO THE SAUSAGE TREE KING ? Tragic news from Mara Triangle yesterday. One of the resident males for years there, the solo pride male for Sausage Tree pride, Ol Donyo Paek male, unfortunately died whilst trying to defend his territory in a fight against intruders. He was caught and outnumbered by two unidentified males from across the border of Serengeti. His breathless body was found days after the fight, with severe injuries and blood on his hind legs and groin area. Apparently he went through a most intense fight towards the end and died as a true warrior. We are extremely sad to hear about his passing as this male has impressed us for being a solo protector for his pride and cubs, and did so well for 2 years alone. Born around Jan. 2012 he had a brother as his right-hand man until that male varnished during 2019. Since then the Ol Donyo Paek male managed to hold his territory near Kisangaa area on his own, and did so well to protect his offsprings. 6 subadult sons have grown up from Sausage Tree pride, ready to walk out for their own adventure, while a batch of young cubs are still within the pride now. The passing of Ol Donyo Paek has left these cubs in a very vulnerable situation now. Let’s hope the pride with cubs have managed to escape and hide from the intruders at this moment. This great family is led by the famous queen “Kinky Tail female”. We’ll keep you updated for the whereabouts of the queen and her Sausage Tree pride. RE: Other male lion coalitions from Masai Mara - BigLion39 - 09-07-2021 I read in the article by Angama that after Ol Donyo Paek was killed the Serenghetti nomads were seen hanging out with 3/6 sub adults of Ol Donyo. Crazy!!! He held the Sausage Tree pride for a good 2 years by himself! Shame he got caught out there. RE: Other male lion coalitions from Masai Mara - lionuk - 09-10-2021 Olbarikoi, one of the remaining two Sankai males. He looks magnificent! He and his brother are still managing to hold on both Sankai pride and Fig Tree breakaway pride at Talek area. *This image is copyright of its original author

RE: Other male lion coalitions from Masai Mara - lionuk - 09-12-2021 Kaka with a light facial scar. He will be okay soon, though. He looks great for a 12 years old lion. Picture taken 2 days' ago. *This image is copyright of its original author
RE: Other male lion coalitions from Masai Mara - lionuk - 09-13-2021 Sikio's son, 1/3 Paradise pride young males. Sired by Musketeers males, these males are at Mara Triangle competing for territory. Let's wish them the best of luck. *This image is copyright of its original author

RE: Other male lion coalitions from Masai Mara - BigLion39 - 09-15-2021 @lionuk..... Kaka is definitely no way 12 years old. I believe he is approx 1 yr older than Maridadi so he might be 10ish. Ill find his right birthday! RE: Other male lion coalitions from Masai Mara - lionuk - 09-15-2021 (09-15-2021, 01:37 PM)BigLion39 Wrote: Kaka is definitely no way 12 years old. Ill find his right birthday!According to Mara Predator Project, Kaka was born in 2009, so it makes him approx 12 years old and, yes he's around a year older than Maridadi. RE: Other male lion coalitions from Masai Mara - BigLion39 - 09-16-2021 @lionuk.... sorry I do not know how to quote like you have... yes I kknow that but I'm not sure that is up to date. Its not an easy site to navigate. You might be correct and if so i appoligize. Im still digging. For instance I cannot find Maridadi on MPCP or N2 but Lolparpit and Olbarnoti are still there. RE: Other male lion coalitions from Masai Mara - BigLion39 - 09-16-2021 Kaka was sired 2012, Maradadi 2013 from a reputable source on FB. Mara Predetor Project web page is not up to date and hard to navigate. RE: Other male lion coalitions from Masai Mara - Cunaguaro - 09-18-2021 Not for sensitive viewers. Great sighting yesterday of the last beast from the four Musketeers coalition King Morani, after his famous brother Scarface died months ago. He has lost his pride he once dominated to the young males and he is now depending on himself, life for him now is not easy with his age! But here he proves that he is able to feed himself, hope that he will find a partner to help him in this difficult stage of his life. Masai Mara, Kenya.
