Scary humans, and wary tigers.

A big predator, such as the tiger, needs vast, uninhabited landscapes to survive. Today, such landscapes are scarcely available, and interactions between the large predator and humans are unfortunately inevitable. Even more unfortunate is that tigers generally do not fare well during such encounters.

The encounter seen in the photo here is inside Kanha Tiger Reserve, but ended without any discomfort for either of the parties. The workers, led by a forest guard, showed tremendous presence of mind, in collecting together and forming a unified groups. The tigeress, along with the cubs, understandably showed concern, but crossed without a second glance once she understood there was nothing to be wary about.

A tryst with probably the largest male tiger of Central India.

Is this what tiger tourism should look like ? who have liked to see the expression on the man's face had the tiger turned his way..

The entire episode kind of sullied my interest in one of the major parks of Central India...similar things did happen repeatedly during that visit...
