Stay safe from hacking - sanjay - 03-29-2014 Hacking is vast field and anything over internet or computer is never 100% hacked proof. I am giving some general tips to stay safe from being hacked for all users here. Often hacking results in spoiling all the hard work of any user here. There are 2 common hacking techniques used to hacking the passwords. No.1 Phishing Phishing is most common technique used to hack the username and password by making fake login page of website you use to login. How the hacker do it: In this technique the hacker make a login page of the website exactly same in look and feel and will mail, pm, or text you the link of that fake asking you to input your username and password to do something. If you click on this link you will get a login page exactly same as you used to login in actual website. You will enter your username and password. That username and password will be mailed silently (at background) to the hacker. In this way you will lose your username and password without even knowing it. How to avoid this: 1. Never click on any link from your mail or pm that ask for putting username and password for any reason. 2. Always see the URL address of the link very carefully whenever you click on any such link. 3. Always bookmark your favorite website (login page also) URL address and whenever you need to visit or access them, go either by clicking on it or type the URL yourself. Never trust any link sent in your mail box or private message box. 4. If you realize that you have been hacked, quickly change your password. No. 2 Key logger Key logger is malicious or malware program that silently installed on your system (computer, laptop, mobile tablet etc.), when you install any other software from untrusted websites. How the hacker do it: Once these key logger is installed on your computer it will keep sending all your activities (keypad typing etc.) silently in background to the hacker without knowing you. How to avoid this: 1. Never download software, cracks serial keys from untrusted websites. 2. Always install antivirus in your system if you visit to or downloads from untrusted websites. 3. Keep checking your task manager for programs that running in background of your system. To know more about these technique please google them. These Tips are very important for moderator. These tips will save you from being hacked not only from WF but also from your favorite websites* *These tips are for general information for all members here. However I don’t take any responsibility that your account will never be hacked by following these tips. USE STRONG PASSWORD - sanjay - 03-31-2014 Keep Your Passwords Strong! The number 1 reason of hacking attempts going well is bad passwords chosen by user. It is not hard to make a good password. If you are that lazy. Your passwords should be cryptic, contain uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers, and symbols. It should also be at least 12 characters, maybe more. Make sure it is not easily guessable. If you use things related to you to decide the password, the hacker can guess your password base on your details from other sources. Warning !!!!! Beware of the Hacker - Apollo - 08-19-2014 Hi all fellow Wildfact members, This is something very important, which I thought of sharing it with everyone. On 13-08-2014 I received a private message from roflcopters (on yuku), it stated that he wants to make me a Moderator at AvsA and I should post on a particular thread for which the link was given in the message. But I didnt reply or respond to his pm, so I got another private message on 18-08-2014 reminding me of the previous message. Here are the screen shots of his messages. *This image is copyright of its original author *This image is copyright of its original author When I clicked that link it directed me to a page which requested me to provide login information for yuku, eventhough I have already been logged in to yuku. This is a clear hacking trick to hack my yuku account by getting my login information. Here is a screen shot of the page which requested me to login, check the webpage address. The URL is different from original yuku address but the page setup looked the same. *This image is copyright of its original author I messaged roflcopters (on wildfact) regarding this and he provided me the information that his yuku account was already hacked by the hacker. So this unknown hacker is using Rofl's yuku account to hack other accounts. So please be careful and DO NOT provide your login info on any anonymous webpage and always check the webpage address. The hacker can use a webpage setup which could look exactly the same like the original page, but its URL will be different. So always login from the original site. A special thanks to Sanjay for helping me out. Be Safe from Hackers. Regards Apollo RE: Warning !!!!! Beware of the Hacker - sanjay - 08-19-2014 Great, Apollo you figured it out successfully. This is called phishing technique of hacking as described in first method here http://wildfact.com/forum/topic-stay-safe-from-hacking If you see carefully the link(url is different). So all yuku users are adivced to stay away from such activities. I would also like to suggest all of you to leave yuku forever, because it it not safe and no support from yuku to dealt with these issues. If you want to teach him lesson - Go to the this fake url and input abusing words in both textbox and click "Login". The hacker will get those abuse words in his email instead of your login details. So go and put abusing words to hacker in that boxes. Do it as much as possible to really discourage and irritate him/her. RE: Warning !!!!! Beware of the Hacker - Pckts - 08-19-2014 Don't even add fuel to the troll. Thank god you caught it and we are aware. Let the POS who is trying to hack continue to waste his/her time. Good job and thanks for sharing. RE: Warning !!!!! This is not an appropriate, nor mature response to what the hacker is doing, and if anything, will only make them continue. I suggest nobody take this advice. |
