@Pckts I don't think the lion images you posted qualify for big male lion, they are nice looking lions, but I thought I could post some really impressive males.

They look big to me, you should know as well as anyone that one image of a lion can look small and another image of the same lion can look large. One image of a male with a female can be misleading'
IE:
How old is the female, how large, which is closer to the camera, standing on an angle etc...

Well I want the pictures here to be impressive.
And it's nothing wrong with the pictures you posted, but the males where not impressive, and not compared to the females neither. This thread is about the large males not the females!

Your "opinion" is not the same as my "opionion" when dictating what an impressive lion or lioness looks like I guess.

New K-Male and mate in Dhikala...... this very large male and female have not been seen in this area previously and seem to have chased away the dominant male tiger of this area..... the tigress looks bigger than the average male tiger in other areas...... — at Jim Corbett National Park.

ROARrrrr for Jungle TigerNAGPUR: A bullock died after being brutally attacked by the male tiger Jai in Umred Karhandla wildlife sanctuary on Saturday evening.According to onlookers, a villager was riding a bullock cart near the sanctuary gate when the tiger suddenly leapt upon the bullock. The incident took place around 4 .15pm after which the frightened bullock ran towards the tourist gate."The villagers came to the injured animal's rescue and a veterinary doctor was also summoned to the spot. However, the bullock died around 6pm during treatment in the village," said wildlife enthusiast Himanshu Bagde who witnessed the incident. After the bullock's death, the situation became tense as villagers shifted the carcass near the gate. A mob of around 400 villagers gathered at the gate demanding compensation."Usually in such cases, they get very low compensation and that too after a long period of time. The villagers were demanding on-spot compensation of Rs 50,000 for the bullock," a source said.Honorary district wildlife warden Rohit Karoo informed that the situation was brought under control at night. "The villagers were calmed down and a compensation will be given. It is a long procedure as it involves various formalities," he said.A section of the tourists said they faced a lot of inconvenience on Sunday as they had to travel 32km more, which is half as much as the distance from Nagpur to Karhandla. The sanctuary is 60km from Nagpur.Though the villagers are demanding 50,000 compensation for the bullock, Luche said, "We will have to abide by the GR, which states that only 10,000 can be paid. The payment will be released on Monday. If the villagers force closure of the gate, it will be tourists, local guides and Gypsy owners who will suffer."Meanwhile, wildlife experts demanded resolution of the issue early as resentment among villagers can also lead to revenge killing of wildlife. tnnSource : TOI
