Very true, everything should be treated with the same amount of respect, doesn't matter the color of skin, the way you live, if you walk on four legs, or have none at all. I try my best to treat everything with respect, from the smallest of insects and up.

HAPPY 4TH BIRTHDAY, DOC!

Thanks for offering, but you don't need to share your "cake" with us buddy, it's a little...meaty for the typical human palate. You can have that giant meat-sicle all to yourself! Here at Noah's Ark we love celebrating our animals birthdays and reflecting back over the years. We can hardly believe this 500 plus pound tiger is already 4 years old... can you?

Hard to believe that at 3.5 years old, this massive boy tipped the scales at 520+lbs. He is the largest cat at Noahs ark and the famous boy who used to live with little ann (black bear).

She claims Zues the Tiger goes about "850lbs"

Hes a fat cat, but I thought magic seemed even more robust, but Im sure Zues is a much larger framed tiger since she stated how large he was.

Right, the claims on weights are obviously exaggerated. Just thought some nice shots from the animals

Your point?
They nueter all their big cats, as all captive cats should be, or at least not let to breed.

Here is what a Wild Bengal Tiger looks like when kept in captivity

RE: Tiger Directory Name             : Singham
Location        : Enclosure inside Bandhavgarh NP at Magdhi zone
Year of Birth : November 2009
Ancestry       : Son of Bokha tiger and Jhurjhura tigress
Status           : Live
Sex                : Male
Species          : panthera tigris tigris

On 19th of May 2010 when Jhurjhura was killed, the cubs were orphaned and were on their own for 4-5 days. that's when the forest department saw the situation and decided to move these cubs into an enclosure at magdhi zone. One of the cub was Singham, a very heavy and huge male.

My point: size correlation when it comes to neutered cats. For comparison reasons between wild and captive animals. If you want to compare captive and wild tigers to look what´s different in terms of body composition, then neutered tigers shouldn´t be included and if even so, then with a clear remark. But to me it wouldn´t make a whole lot of sense, since we all know how neutering effects size/growth.

That makes no sense, neutered cats grow no larger or smaller than any other captive cat.
Just because you see more neutered cats that you might consider "obese" there is no real data or evidence that says they are larger or smaller. Body dimensions do not change at all, maybe they become more lazy when neutered and that leads to being obese more often than not. But it has nothing to do with their dimensions and it also doesn't mean that some neutered cats aren't still in great shape for captive. Like Doc obviously is.

A little more proof of what a monster and how healthy Doc is, here is the latest vid of him.

Neutered or not, captive or not. He is fast, athletic and monstrous. Certainly not even close to being considered obese, he is just a massive animal that is in great shape and is a perfect example of what a healthy 500+ lb cat looks like in captivity.

Turpentine Creek Wildlife Refuge - Siegfried - 03-08-2015

Big cats in captivity is somewhat sad just by its nature.  That being said, here are some good looking animals.

RE: Turpentine Creek Wildlife Refuge - Pckts - 03-08-2015

Not splitting hairs but you may want to just post this in the "Captive cats" thread

RE: Turpentine Creek Wildlife Refuge - Siegfried - 03-09-2015

The Captive Animals section is for... "Information about Captive Animals, The wild animals that being held as captive in zoos and circus."  Being that I am providing no information and only posting photos, I thought the Wildlife Videos and Pictures section was the more appropriate subforum to post these photos in.

RE: Turpentine Creek Wildlife Refuge - Pckts - 03-09-2015

Doesn't matter to me, I think the less new threads the better just so we can find more info in one place. I like to put any and all captive info, images or videos in one place, unless we are talking about "freak specimens".
But to each their own.
